I just want to point out although I'm not a 12 stepper
However a large proportion of gye recoverers are avid steppers, based on the SA white book and the AA wine book

If that's the route you end up taking, it apparently gleans a totally new highly inspiring connection / relationship with Gd.
Is that something that you'd like to invest in?

Dovid it's easier for me if you keep your posts in 1 thread so I can sit back and watch how you can weave an amazing story

I saw the term "White Book" in another post. Does that refer to the GYE Handbook ("Guard Your Eyes Handbook Dec 2012.pdf")?

And in another post someone mentioned focusing on finding root causes for behavior such as masturbation, which is an idea I hadn't considered. In other areas of observance, my approach has been "Do it (or don't do it) because it's a commandment from Hashem," but that's not enough in this case, so looking deeper may help.

Does the Handbook go into detail on that? If not, are there other references that address that?
