Just curious, Jack: did you ever end up reading the post I referred you to, or not? Simple question.

Rabosai, I have had some vikuchim with some good chevra here, even with Dov. So I should say this. Chances are Dov and like minded chevra are more correct in the issues than I because I have fallen yesterday so why go by the opinions of someone with not such a major success rate as opposed to those who haven't fallen ever since they implemented their recovery programs. I need to rethink my plan. May Hashem help us all.

Many of us have found that the intense battle of a "vikuach" alone causes much resentment to build inside of us. And many have concluded that resentment is a major contributing factor to the spiritual illness that plagues us.

I don't think I'm what the chevra here call an addict. I am baruch Hashem not on a spree. Today I picked myself up and moved on. I am a sinner. Some people here are in my category as apposed to being addicts. Father please show me how a sinful son atones.

Whats the different for you if your a sinner or an addict?

 *  I failed yesterday, and I might fail tomorrow. But just for today I'm going to give it a try.

The difference is what road to take to recovery.

Someone that has a low level of addiction to look at porn once is a sinner, Wheras someone that is addicted and does this repeatedly is not? Efshar farketrt?? Or maybe we should say to the farkert "Ipche mistaber"??? Your usage of the word sinner doesn't make sense.

IMHO In my holy opinion - Every guy that's on this forum and has accepted to take positive sobriety steps is a צדיק. THERE ARE NO SINNERS here - yourself included.

Thank you for the kind words, BUT...
אבל(בקושטא) אנחנו ... חטאנו
It's important to recognize things as they are. If I would really know and appreciate how low I have fallen, I might have a better chance of rising up again. Unfortunately my problem is that I don't see it clearly enough and my words are empty and not enough heart felt. Do I really feel that I hit rock bottom because I rebelled against HKB"H? I should feel that way, but do I really? If I would I would be cured, I think.

Ok. You're not saying you are a sinner, else addicts dould say that too.
Rather you're trying to use the concept of sinner aka teshuva to help you recover

Does that work for you? Not for me.
It is a reason I'm on gye (and possibly many addicts too), but not a tool of sobriety for me

I don't know if it works or not, I never really and sincerely tried teshuva. I am not sure what would work for me. I wish I would really be ready to give teshuva a try, but I think while I'm wishing I might have to find something else too.

About a year ago, I was at a stage where I didn't think I was a lust addict. At the same time, I knew I had unsuccessfully tried (or was mentally unable to properly try) using mussar/chizuk to do a proper teshuva.
At that point, I figured that I didn't really care whether I was an addict or not. The fact is that other people found relief using the tools set forth in the 12 steps, so I would try to use them as well.
