Hi, 

I might be getting a new phone soon, wanted to know how people find apple restrictions or other filters on iPhone, do they work well etc, and also if they better/worse than Android.

I don't believe there is a good free option for an Android filter. Apple restrictions (and gentech with it from tag) are free. Obviously it all depends on what style filter you want...I.e. filtered browser or just apps bec I think filtered browser is gonna cost some dough for a good one. (Could be wrong)

Sorry forgot to ask, does apple restrictions filter apps like netspark(at least on Android) does, or is it basic allow or disallow access to apps

There is the option to allow or block specific apps with the iPhone filter.  I use Covenant Eyes and WebChaver in conjunction with the GYE / KBA option which puts a financial penalty on you for "transgressing".  I have social websites blocked like Facebook, Instagram and YouTube, and I haven't had any issue on either my computer or iPhone.  In the past, I have tried to "break" the filter, but now I am too afraid to try that.  

I had gotten my screen accountability report this morning, and the majority of the screen shots were from my visits to Guard Your Eyes!!  It was the best feeling! 

You can filter android but you have to use the Family Link. Google put in a huge loophole for any other filter. Even though Family Link has its own problems, but at least it works and isn't sabotaged.

Any android device without Family Link is an unfiltered device.

(I may not have much credibility because of falling 2 days ago but it wasn't on phone)

@Lionking. I also know of the work around, therefore I use Google family link, but that has its own problems. If you have a better solution please pm me. (I know Webchaver has a different solution)

It also depends on if you are trying to whitelist the device to certain apps only, or to keep a browser which is filtered. The first is simpler to implement, the second is more difficult.
