I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that there are indeed meetings close to you, and even closer than the 70 minutes I needed to travel each way when I attended meetings.

Chat room shows Cordnoy. He's not usually there. 
Generally the forum is less of a black hole than the chatroom and is easier to know who you're connecting with.
