Disclaimer, my comments feel nitpicky even to me. I like the image more than I disagree with the message.

​OK, so the first part reminds me of the Rebbe with the big stick (how's that for imagery) back in the cheder teaching us the Hagada and impressing on us that the only true ben chorin is someone who is not a slave to his Yetzer Hara. 

For the 2nd part, I have no idea what happiness is, I only familiar with the artificially generated type, and I have occasionally enjoyed what I do.

Interesting. I misunderstood your disagreement.
I do what I like quite often, but it feels more like slavery than freedom.
You'll tell me, "then you're not doing what you like!," but I have a hard time accepting that. 

I think we're saying the same thing.

I dislike doing what I like (actually I hate it).
