I can't tell if you're joking or not. If you are, it's not humorous. If you're not, this is not the place for leftist trash. America is not systematically racist, nor are whites killing blacks on a regular basis (a Washington Post database found that blacks were responsible for over 75% percent of black deaths that resulted from violent crime), nor are the police systematically racist (19 unarmed whites were killed in 2019 compared to 9 unarmed blacks, according to the same database, which is especially noteworthy given the rate of crime amongst blacks). Read Heather MacDonald's "The War on Cops", or her recent op-ed "The Myth of American Systematic Racism" (in the WSJ) where she further debunks the lies and bullying spread by the left. But regardless, GYE is a recovery site for those struggling with pornography. It is not a place to make some leftist speech. If I'm wildly misinterpreting your post (which is entirely possible), then please let me know, and my sincere apologies. But if I'm not, then please realize that people come on to GYE for help with their struggles, not to have leftism and lies (which have no place in Yiddishkeit) thrown in their faces.

Wildly misinterpreting!

Hi Warrior.
My my, your name sure fit your post. :-)
Sounds like you are very frustrated about some things. I must agree with you though that this isnt really the place for a polital speech, left or right. My own personal opinion I'll be happy to shmooze about in a pm or by email if you'd like. As you wrote, all sorts of people come here to get help with lust, some lean right, some lean left, and some have just left right in the center (whatever that means). I think Mark had a cute line that can't be denied on its own (without reading all sorts of meaning to it) but you certainly dont need to share my view on it. (I've actually lowered someone's karma in the past for what I felt was a distateful post), but let's keep the politics outside.
Reminds me of an old poem...
Let's keep it simple,
Not tied with a wimple,
Keep our focus as clear
As my old chandelier...
Cause we're in this together
Now and forever
No matter our slant
We're not here to vant
To recover from lust
And all that is prust
lets stop all that cryn'
And drink a l'chaim
(Just don't drive afterwards)

My apologies. Admittedly, I was not in the greatest of moods (to put it mildly) last night when I saw your post (I'd just had a very bad fall), and thus I wasn't thinking very clearly (again, to put it mildly). I interpreted "White lies matter" to mean "Lies told by the white people who say there is no systemic racism matter." Seems pathetic, but as someone who is politically active, let me assure you that there are actually people who say that. If I had been thinking clearly, it just might have occurred to me that the more likely meaning of the phrase (given the context) was "white lies (as in, actual "white lies") matter." But as you can probably tell, it didn't. Thus, my wild misinterpretation.
Again, my sincere apologies. Please be mochel me.

Sorry to hear

Ok. So now we have “White lies matter" to mean "Lies told by the white people who say there is no systemic racism matter."

Do you realize that’s a racist interpretation.
Because then
“Black lives matter" would mean "Lives sold by the white people who say there is no systemic racism matter."

Markz, my sincere apologies as well, I didn't follow that, but........

No, C"V. Your post didn't make me fall, I'd already fallen. (Because of this, I wasn't in a clear state of mind when I saw your post.) You're not at fault in any way here.

Hey! did you hear about the Yekey who came late for Mincha?he missed Ashrei, but he made it on time for Yoshvey

I suppose he should try to be more careful next time to come on time.
As a yekki myself, I fail to see the joke in that.

Great posts that Guard had....

In Memoriam

With all the sadness and trauma going on in the world at the moment, it is worth reflecting on the death of a very important person, which almost went unnoticed last week. Larry LaPrise, the man who wrote "The Hokey Pokey", died peacefully at age 93. The most traumatic part for his family was getting him into the coffin.  They put his left leg in.  And then the trouble started.

I may be schizophrenic,
but at least I have each other.

Just ignore the whole karma thing. Somehow it got turned off by me, and i never requested that they turn it back on. It is ridiculous that your value should be determined by anybody and everybody who joins GYE for a few days. If there is some purpose to the whole thing (which i personally do not understand), then one should earn the right to raise or lower another guys karma, by proving that his opinions are acceptable and appropriate. We all know there have unfortunately been sick individuals on the site (BH few and far between). They should be grading serious guys helping themselves and others by taking out the time to write?!
