On Friday 8/11/23, Kedusha passed away.

Kedusha was one of my role models.

Kedusha always helped his coworkers find the cheapest health insurance. His sons just said at the shiva that he was an advocate of life insurance, and he told me personally he took LTC (Long Term Care) Insurance. Every time I had a financial question, he would respond to my email with an immediate phone call.

Kedusha's love for Shemiras Einayim was unbelievable. He gave out sefarim in our shul. Recently, I brought some of them to shul and he asked me to please write L'zchus Refuah Sheleima for him in the sefarim. I displayed some of these sefarim on Shabbos and someone was excited that there was still a copy of "Windows of the Soul" left, a book encouraged by R' David Ashear (who was not as well known then), written by this person's Rebbe, R Tzvi Miller

Kedusha publicly gave out his mailing address to receive all the checks for Guard Your Eyes, as its secretary.

As can be seen from his thread, Kedusha went 11 years clean until 2020. This is about the time when he retired, when he became too sick to work even from home.

Kedusha was known for his davening. People who observed him felt he had a connection to Hashem. He was also known to be a happy person. Despite his ailments, he was happier than most. His son says, "he was happier than me and I did not have the tzaros he had."

Kedusha was relatively young (58). He had ALS. I first heard about it in 12/2019. He is survived by 6 children (4 unmarried), his parents, his wife, and 4 siblings

For the past 15/20 minutes, I have been staring at my screen in a kinda shock and perusin' some of Kedusha's old posts. I came to GYE when he was already several years' clean and several thousand posts. He was a man on a mission. He wrote short and to the point. He was a true advocate for shmiras einayim. From the first day back in 2009 when he installed a filter that didn't have a loophole. He was always postin' shiurim, links to articles, books, etc. that promoted kedushah. [L'havdil elef havdalos, I always wonder what would happen when I pass; would anyone even know? Would there be a eulogy here? I kinda hope not (unless they would delete all the compromisin' posts - which tally in the thousands).] He was a true gibbor and a stalwart of holiness.

Readers - please take some time and search out his old posts. I don't remember knowin' that he was sick. I probably picked a fight or two with him in my days and I have a sinkin' feelin' right now. Personally, I have a 'kedusha' oath (which I usually don't advocate for) thru the end of Yom Kippur; in his memory and zchus, I am extendin' it until the conclusion of Simchas Torah.

> I probably picked a fight or two with him
Kedusha was the nicest moderator. He had nothing against anyone and he nonchalantly made edits when he thought it was triggering, hoping the "victim" would understand. All moderators have what to contribute, but middos wise and understanding wise and kind wise, we could always go to Kedusha. Believe you me, nothing was a "fight" and he would not have been have been upset by you.

Some moderators (and posters) are/were tough here. I discussed with Kedusha some moderators who were difficult. He knew the score and the ins and outs of the moderators in GYE and validated my frustrations with 2 of them and worked with these people to improve them. One of them is reading this as we speak and is an asset to GYE.

Thank you Hashem (our Creator's username), for giving us this man and helping him grow into wonderful the person he wanted to become. I miss him a great deal and hope never to forget our conversations ❤️

This thread is the greatest Mussar sefer ever....

The very thought that one day we will move on to a place of Emmes where all these desires will be left behind in this fleeting world, serves as a reminder to refocus and ask myself "where am I heading? Do I want to leave this world on heights of Kedusha or steeped in Tumah....?

What a speacil Yid

Wow. I think I just realized who he was. I grew up davening in the same shul as him. To say he was a happy person is an understatement. He was always smiling and happy. I can be personally say that the last time I saw him (probably around a year ago) he was as smiling as always, despite being fully wheelchair bound.
Though I don't remember him handing out seforim in shul, he was truly someone who inspired us all.

I had the honor of knowing him for many years and also davened in the same shul w him from time to time. We spoke many, many times around the time he started to get involved with GYE and he was a very special man, bH. His wife and children were very lucky to have a man like him to share their lives with, and he will be missed a lot. ❤️‍

Bumping into this thread saddened me greatly.
When I first joined GYE in the beginning of January this year, his thread was one of the first ones I read all the way through. I was blown away by the strength of getting to where he got (for me, at that time, it seemed an impossible task) and then came the real clincher. To see that it is possible to fall after over A DECADE of cleanliness and then be able to (seemingly, just from the different dates on posts) struggle through the aftermath and eventually get back up. I was blown away.

I decided to send him a PM in the hope of connecting to a truly great person. (His profile says last visit date as Dec. 23 2023) I wasn't expecting a response right away as it seemed clear that he had been an infrequent visitor in recent years. I have been eagerly awaiting his response, alas, it is never going to come.

For this I am saddened.
For the lost opportunity to (hopefully) speak to, and get to know, a truly great person (who was a GYE legend to boot) I am terribly saddened.

I have gained a lot from his thread.
