I saw a link to this website a while ago, but I ignored it. Now I'm here.
So... I'm 18 years old. I was on the streets, I guess youd say 'off the derech' for a few years, and struggled with drug addiction. Baruch Hashem, I got past that. So imagine how frustrated I have been when I started really working on shmirat einayim and not to watch pornography, and I discover I am addicted!
I have tried everything, and it hasn't worked. with hashems help, hopefully this will. Pleased to meet you all.

1. for lust addiction, and as far as i am aware from the big book, also alcohol addiction, one does not "get past that". its getting clean, and a lifetime of recovery follows. is drug addiction different , in that you "get past that" and you just walk away reborn and completely healed, or is it the same principle of "once an addict always an addict"?
2. after your realization regarding lust addiction, "you tried everything". would you please share some of the "everything" you have tried?

but someone who has really kicked an addiction like your buddy, i AM NOT CHALLENGING, i truly just wonder, having gone through the process, what it is that he tried. it has gotta be more real than anything preliminary that i ever tried.
and i think allowing him to share his thoughts is a much more respectful approach than answering for him. after all, he is an adult. no? (and it may be healthier also ...)
