Guys what the heck are you talking about? Is this some type of gye humor that I'm supposed to get used to?

Basically yes, until you get a sense of humor you must ABSOLUTELY get hold of those blindfolds for tonight's wedding

BUT not everyone is zoche to the JHF section

If you weren't born with a sense of humor, I suggest at the chupa you stand on the women's side so you look at the men the whole way thru

Ok STOP. enough!!

screech..........

Ask BenTorah.BaalHabayis what he did at a recent wedding and what sensible guys here advised him

I hope you enjoyed the wedding and were able to keep guard your eyes in mind

Forgive me if I wasn't very helpful

2 little notes

1: There's no one gye humor that you have to buy - nonsense
It's exclusively mine, and patent pending too

2: I have trained myself for many years already to not make eye contact with women (men too to a certain extent probably due to my mild aspie), and to minimize any setting where women frequent eg the Chupa. I can easily slip away - find a side room, and skip it entirely and won't bother me at all, or come in for 3 minutes, cos why does the chassan need me?
If I need to be at the chupa I stand / find a seat facing men only... You get my gist?

Why should I tell you all this if you're not crazy like me?

When there's guys carrying the chassan on a table to the mechitza so he can swing a ribbon with the kalla who is on a table on the ladies side, I used to (no kidding) join the guys and push the table away from the mechitza - when they thought I was holding too!
I felt it wrong for the chassan to see all the women dancing etc...

Ok now do you prefer my jokes, to my stupid customs? Huh?

Well u will never guess where I was standing during he chupa-under the chupa!!  When I got to the chasuna they asked me to announce the kibbudim. The blindfolds weren't necessary markz since there is no teyva of chancing a look at the women's section when ur standing in front of a giant crowd of people, and anyway it was no shaychus, the wedding was in Lakewood.
I davened for siyata deshmia before the chasuna and b"h it was totally fine.
I move on to day #3, so slowly but surely i hope to hit up a high number of clean days with the mind set of day by day.
as I was standing under the chupa and looked around at my friend and his well now wife, I got a shock. When I read all this stories on messed up marriages and u see it and the climax, a chosson and kallah under chupa, to think that all that happiness could get shattered bec the guy would be a selfish jerk and rush after his lust is a scary and sad thought.

What's "Lakewood" supposed to mean?
They have the chuppa for men in different hall than the women?

I need to check this out

BUT I have to say, I like the perspective you came out from there. That we must endeavor to be normal law abiding citizens and not let lust control us

Also I'm curious what the oilam thinks about not dancing into the woman's section by the badekin. All the guys dance the chosson to the kallah basically encircled by girls who are all dressed up. I don't wanna be some frummy but I def don't feel that it's good for me to dance the chosson all the way to the kallah, or even onto the room with all the women

Ohhhhhhh

so you ARE like me

Which means that you're also mad, or I'm not

Which way is it gonna be

so I try keep away, but if I'm needed, eg there's only a few people around dancing the Chassan in, I'd do it and look only at the men or the floor

Generally, one should not do somethin' that is not good for him.

In many (mainly chassidishe) circles, they don't let Bochrim dance into the Badeken, only married guys.

(Because we all know that married guys don't have lust problems...)

I don't get the whole "minhag". What is there to gain from dancing (!) in the middle of a throng of ladies dressed their best..
I can't believe that all those people are immune. Many men, married or not, stay out of the badeken room where the women are gathered.
