Hi,

This is my first post, but I have been in and out of recovery with GYE phone conferences and reading the handbooks for a few years now. I know that I need to take recovery seriously, but I have a very hard time being consistent in my work in almost all aspects of my life. I don't know how to get past that and finally take life seriously. I know I'm in a downward spiral but why should this attempt at recovery be any different? Anyway, I have a pressing question now:

I currently have Verizon Fios and use the VCF (Venishmartem Cloud Filter). I started out with lower level filtering and now as my addiction has unfortunately progressed I require a higher level (whitelist/blacklist). Anyway, I'd like to switch to Optimum as my internet service provider (ISP) , because the Fios bill keeps increasing and I don't want to be on a contract. Does anyone have experience using Optimum and VCF? I was in touch with the technicians managing VCF and they wrote me that as long as there is no filtering done by the ISP, VCF should still work. However, I'm not sure how to find that out without first making the switch. I know that Optimum offers free filtering software which I would opt out of, but I don't know if that means that something is therefore done at the server level. Basically, I'd like to know if anyone on the forum has experience with Optimum and VCF and can advise me as to what to do. Thank you for your help.

"my addiction has unfortunately progressed..."

Welcome. I'm just popping by to say hi, and share my concern for your difficulty in this challenge.
If I may comment
Till I started sobriety 3 months ago I was hard on filters etc. but I'm at a point that I can be sober without these, although I still have them as backup

WELCOME! I'm confused about the 2 parts of your post. Are you equating sobriety with better shmira? I'm sure you didn't get that from the phone conferences.

I'm not able to answer the technical question, but are you willing to share more background regarding the first part of your post.

Maybe the chevra can be of some help?
