now that I am married I recognize that you cannot lead a proper jewish life while stuck in this addiction…the addiction fundamentally alters your jewishness the way even pork-eating (I imagine) does not…this is more than about keeping a specific halacha (like wearing right shoe first then left then tying left then tying right, which is also halacha) but it is about your very existence as a jew…something that single people maybe cannot fathom…

Thats a great point thanks for saying it the way it is ! Also it does an incredible amount of destruction in heaven , which then corresponds to "bad" coming down to this world(The nefesh Hachaim speaks about the damage an avirah does to this world)

Sounds sadly familiar - single guys, deal with this when you're single - you - and your future wives - are the lucky ones.

All you singles out there, myself included.
These guys WERE single before they got married [I think] what in the world are you arguing with them for?!

Which reminds me of a derasha I heard on shavuos: [it sounds better in the original yiddish, I'm sure a kind soul will be willing to translate it for the rest of the chevra]

wacky ringtones
making noise at all the wrong times
they get put in 'silent mode'
