Hi, y'all! Today I'm officially 30 days clean. Yay!! (It's probably closer to about sixty or so but its thirty since I starting counting on the 90-day thingie so I'm sticking with that.) One day at a time...one day at a time...

One slip but nothing major enough to constitute a fall. Chasdei Hashem!!

Thanks to all the gyes writing on GYE. The chizuk is fantastic and the sense of togetherness makes a big difference in this "battle".

As ina alluded to yesterday, we always must remain vigilant - when things are going poorly, because we are more prone to acting out as usual, and when things are going well, because we become complacent and think we are invincible.

Last night, Hashem sent me a message that I am not infallible and I better keep up whatever it is that has been working. One thing led to another and I thought that I deserved something from my wife (a month of self-proposed no physical intimacy, cleaned the kitchen till sparkling while she was out, stam assumed she would be understanding of my "needs") - it was enough to bring me back to my old self. She even said, "You are like the old you again." I didn't realize it but apparently she had felt objectified for the past little while. After being rejected (in the nicest way possible, mind you, cuz she's a tzedekes), I struggled a lot with everything I have learned lately. All the old ways of thinking started visiting me, one at a time and then all at once. Went downstairs to stew in RID.

Somehow, by the graces of the One Above, I managed to peel away the layers of "doom" and ask Him for help. You know what? He delivered. Not with the clarity I thought I needed or wished for, but with just enough to stay away from thinking more about it and fall asleep. This morning, I woke up feeling wiser than yesterday, more tempered. I am very grateful for this reminder that it is not enough to coast clean, we need to be proactively filling our lives with meaning and joy, with a real awareness and dependency on Hashem literally at every moment.

I learned for the thousandth time that I am indeed human, still somewhat sick, very much dependent on Hashem's intervention. And the best part is...He showed me that before I decided to chuck it and fall. BARUCH HASHEM!!!! Thanks all for the chizuk. Onward and veiter!
