I do not think this is the case but it could be I am misquoting him. If there is a mistake its probably mine not his. 

How do you feel about rephrasing it as follows. In the Mir bochrem channel the energy and vigor of youth towards learning/roar of Mir instead of using it to go after girls. It is a similar idea, just more refined.
What do you think?

Also in regards to what I wrote about Bochrem in Mir channeling their drive for Girls into Torah/Ahavas Hashem seems to have pretty solid support from the Rambam Hilchos Teshuva Perek 10 halacha 3. Check it out let me know what you think. I think it is a very strong Riyah for what I think my Rebbi said.

i believe the zohar says that the meaning of "barasi yetzer hora barasi torah tavlin" is that we can channel that energy to toirah though i never saw it inside i've heard similar concepts quoted countless times

I hear what your saying the Rambam does seem to be talking about someone who has his mind on one particular girl. However, maybe it can also be referring to the single ones. (first off alot of single guys have a thing for one particular girl).Also the gemarah says any one over 20 who is single has his thoughts in the wrong place. So maybe it is a fair extension to apply it to buchrem with their hormones raging.  After all, single guys are either thinking about nushem or learning nushem.

Though, I hear your point. Could be the Rambam is not a full proof, but I still think there is a lot of truth to the "roar of Mir".

The rambam is speakin' about ahavas Hashem, not learnin' Torah.

TheThe rambam is not instructin' one to channel anythin'; he is merely usin' the love for a woman, perhaps one's wife, as an example as to what the love for God should be.
