Welcome! Your story is not uncommon.  Many of us are "the top bachur in our yeshiva", "come from a chashuv family" etc.

I wouldn't say now or never, (some of us suffered for a decade or 2 or 3 before starting the process of recovery) but I will say, the sooner the better.  It only becomes more difficult over time.  Marriage makes it even messier.  Why suffer any longer? 

May this be the beginning of your recovery.  Read the handbook. Keep posting.

I need help looking for the right filter. I scheduled an appointment with venishmartem (and paid money) but they never called. Which filter is good? I used to have k9. For some one reason it doesn't have it in playstore anymore. And I think the last time I tried it didn't work with my new phone. Suggestions? Or direction which thread I should check?

I still don't know much about you.  A filter is a good start, but for most of us here, far from adequate.  Is your phone the only problem?  How long have you been acting out?  In what ways?

My phone is the main problem. I don't know how large my problem really is... I am brand new to this site. I think this might be largest struggle at this point. I am trying to follow the tools in guidebook. Am I doing this wrong? Please help me. 

Do you need the phone?  What for?  Can you get a kosher phone, or get TAG to filter it?

I use the phone alot. I've had a filter in the past. And it really helped. The start to falling and acting out is YouTube. I need a filter on my phone that will block websites and apps. 

Maybe try looking around the venishmartem website for good filter. Also it may be a good idea to look for accountibility software.

What gibbor was trying to say earlier is that for some people the phone is the issue and for others it's just a symptom of a different issue. If the whole issue is the phone then a filter wil solve it if not then more is needed.

Thanks for answering. Since you've answered-can you explain to me why I'm not getting the chizuk emails? I've signed up for both types. 

What do you use the phone for?  Do you "need" it?  Do you "need" internet, or just the ability to make a phone call (and maybe texting)?  Just because you "use it a lot" doesn't mean that you need it.

I don't have a computer. At least most of the time. No office. I communicate with most people by WhatsApp an Email. I drive long distances and use the gps. When I started to admit that I had a problem after I got my new non filtered phone- I disabled the browser. It helped for a while. I didn't enable it. But then I stopped keeping focused. And I enabled it. Then cleared the data and disabled it for a week again. And chozer chalila.

If you have a reliable reporting program partner, as I have via Covenant Eyes, you may be able to block regular browser, and use the Covenant Eyes browser app

Tell your partner that if he sees any YouTube use, he should give you a call.

I think it tok a day or two after I signed up for the emails for them to start coming.
