This is something I did NOT do, primarily during nidda times, excusing it as a religious thing not to be too sexual during that period - how crazy can us lusters get!!

markz ,dont be so hard on yourself,the halacha is (at least MY Rabbi told me) that during nidda times one should not say to ones wife i love you ,and it has nothing with you being a crazy luster. im enjoying your post ,thank you.

I've been under the weather, sorry took long to respond to this "I love you wife" question that you asked on the PM

TZ mentioned on some other old post that nowadays it has a different connotation and may not come under "דרך חיבה"

I'd be interested to see what current poskim say

As an aside - until we break free of lust, many mundane things will equal more sex, and "I love you" is 1 example
