Is there anything wrong with watching Shtissel? I like to watch movies here and there (it helps me relax) but i really try to avoid Pritzus. It sounds like Shtissel is pretty clean since the characters are all Frum. Is it Kosher to watch?

The actors are not frum at all. They are totally secular, dressed up as frum yidden.
If I remember correctly, there is no pritzus in it, but could be I didn't watch the entire film.

Stepping away from the Shmiras Enayim aspect of watching shows for a minute, I’d like to make a point.

In my opinion, There’s a tremendous amount of damage that can be wrought by the values and ideas of those that wrote the story, and infuse them in a story that comes to life in front of your eyes. There’s a message in the show. And it not a message that those whom you hold as your guides in life would approve of. (It’s subtle. Not like Fiddler On The Roof. But it’s there. I didn’t watch it, but I read enough to know).

Watching a fantasy that’s clearly non-Jewish doesn’t contain the danger of perverting your Yiddishe values in subtle ways as much as watching these kinds of shows does.

Can you elaborate more on what that the damaging ideas and message are?

I saw the Ad.

From that alone it was obvious as Chaim said that this is a totally NON Jewish film with (supposedly) Jewish characters.

I'm not so bothered by the message not being Yiddieshe for say; that's not Meakev for me right now. I was wondering mainly about the Shmiras Einayim aspect. Is it Tznius; are there bad scenes?
