I just wrote a whole long post and then it got deleted by mistake. Ok, things happen.
So long story short- I just got engaged. I'm getting married mid-june. Woohoo! Mazel Tov!
Does anyone have any advice about how to prevent masturbating while engaged. Baruch Hashem I'm (somewhat (b/c nobody's really past anything)) past porn. Now it's just a problem of me when I'm alone with myself. It's really difficult especially since I know what I'm going to be doing once we get married which is pretty exciting but I'm realizing I need to keep myself "kosher". It's nice to have a woman to focus on but we're still not married.

We're both being very careful to not spend too much time together or spend any time together too late at night. 11 o-clock is our curfew for talking on the phone.

Any practical advice?

PS. I did have a really long post including my history and many other details, but I by mistake closed the tab and it all got lost. Then again, nothing happens by mistake, so it must be it was meant to be for there not to be such a long post. Maybe if I have time I'll go back and go over what I missed.

When I do a long post, I usually do it on Word or Notepad first and save it and refine it etc. Not worth the heartache.

But the typing itself could be therapeutic.

My advice is not to see this as a gauntlet, like, "It's the end of the line. Gotta be clean". I thought, like, I'd lose all the zchuyos because now I had NO excuse to act out, I mean, cmon, I was getting married!

You may get caught up in the kedusha-fantasy-craze type hype of dramatic proportions just because it's the engagement period, but in reality it's just today, and the best way forward is just for today. I know the former would make be act out. The latter, I've got some chance.

Also, try not to think, "Ah! We're getting married! NOW I won't masturbate!!"
