Hello everyone.

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on what's a good filter for a Windows 10 laptop, and in particular, one that isn't too expensive (maybe $50 max a year. That's already about $50 more than what I have in my budget at this time, but I'll try to make it work ).

For the record, I've already tried using an accountability program (Covenant Eyes), but unfortunately, it's too difficult to use when relying on wi-fi networks that require a login (long story short: I kept getting caught in a catch-22. I couldn't log in to the wi-fi network without being logged in to my CE account, but I couldn't log in to my CE account without being logged in to the wi-fi).

Thanks!

Of course we need filters, but MBJ has got a point

Have you tried venishmartem?

The good doctor recommends it.

I looked at venishmartem.com, but couldn't find anything specific to Windows 10. If I can't find any specific information regarding Windows 10, I'll likely just download K9 for Windows 8 and hope for the best. It'll likely work, but in the past I've had issues with incompatibility between new operating systems and 'old' filters, so figured I'd try to confirm if it'll work before I install it.

So just going to give an update, in case anyone else had the same question as me:

K9 seems to work fine with Windows 10, nothing seemingly blowing up or breaking down unexpectedly (although deep down I wouldn't be that disappointed if every computer I had access to decided to spontaneously combust...). Before installing K9, however, I would recommend making sure your Windows 10 is fully up to date (install all your updates and restart the computer), otherwise you might get caught with an update when your system restarts due to the K9 install, and you'll have several very scary moments when your computer turns back on...

In my experience K9 seems to work fine with Win10. However I've run in to the same catch-22 situation with wifi login pages (like in a hotel or airport) where k9 blocks the sign-in page because it can't access it's own servers.
