Thank you for posting this! I'm a new member, and these tips are very helpful. I once went on a 4-month streak, and I kept counting every day. I agree it's best when you're not thinking about it anymore, and counting may have led to my downfall.

I've been struggling with this addiction since I was 13. I am now 42. I've had great days, weeks and months, but I always fail.  The worse feeling of all is when my wife found out. However, she has been very supportive in me overcoming this. I want 5748 to be my best year yet and I really need help. Help that my wife cannot supply.

Hi Everyone,

I'm a 24 year old single man who has struggled with mast******** and light p.g. for my entire adult life, with the exception of a few clean streaks over the past couple of years. I had a real fall this past Thursday which shook me up, and I told myself enough is enough!!!, so I said to myself that I really need to do something about this. Be'chesed Hashem, I remembered GYE, and I've been watching the videos, as well as implementing concrete actions, ("Lo Hamedrash Hu Haikar Ellah Hamaseh" is my new motto!!). They include ( and I'm mentioning them for public benefit) not to eat past 8 p.m., as a full stomach has historically instigated arousals  throughout the night, as well as preparing and implementing the tools, such as distraction, like a good book, music or podcast. With the kindness of Hashem, I'm clean for five days so far, which is the longest streak that I've had in close to a year !! My self esteem has gotten a lot better, as well as my comfort with interpersonal relationships. I hope to reach the 90 day mark and keep going from there!!!! The sweetness of freedom is better and longer lasting than anything that P & M can ever provide!!!
