The Kohen's Gadol's tefillah on Y"K in the K"K concluded with the bakashah that Hashem shouldn't listen to the "ovrei derachim's" tefillah that there shouldn't be rain then.

Isn't that an odd tefilah to be inserted at the holiest place on the holiest day at that time?

Mefarshei Tehillim say on Tehillim 22: רחוק מישועתי דברי שאגתי - at times the Ribbono shel Olam acts with us different than our requests, and that is because the "yeshuah" is distant from our request, for we are askin' the wrong thin'. Additionally in 17 as well.

The tefillah of the "ovrei derachim" is a short-sighted one, for they are lookin' at themselves only, and just for that time. They are not seein' the full picture. This is code for all of our tefillos, every day. We may ask for a lot, but is that what we should be requestin'.

He knows what is good for us. May it be His will that He gives us the good allotted for us, and may it be His will that we should realize it.

its annoying as hell that u can see my deleted posts.
yes the girsa of the gemara in yoma has this part at the end. and so does the rambam in hilchos avodas yo"k 4:1. but we pasken like the gemara in taanis 24b. see gevuras ari in yoma. also see the nusach of atta konanta that nusach sefard says that according to many was written by an actual kohen gadol. i think also the bais yosef siman 620 but i may be mistaken about this one.

For an addict like myself, that is precisely the analogy that will bring about my downfall. There are plenty of rest stops along the road, and what really is the difference if I diddle or daddle somewhat. An hour here, an hour there will be mute and insignificant in the long run.....As long as I reach the final goal, and by the time I get there, who really knows or knew what the finishing line really looks like. No, my friends, we/us addicts, are not going anywhere. We have one task and one alone. For us frum yiddin (and this is almost a first for me), it is a simple one. What does God want from us right at this moment? Should I resent that person? Is now the right time to take revenge? Should I look across the aisle? What is there to be afraid of? Is this the link I should click? You can't seem to wanna do His will, fine, then pray for the willingness. It didn't work. Pray again. You looked. Fine. Now, do His will.
