Did you ever have a webchever? that helps tremendously with filter poking. Because you know that someone will see everything.

I never tried it. But I thought about it. The problem is I am not comfortable doing it with anyone who doesn't know I struggle. Giving access to someone here won't help because I anyway post it on the forum.

What will I my report be tomorrow night? I can't know, but what I can say is, if I get past the urges to filter poke and I do something productive, I should be good. So I hope that happens.

Thank God today was a good day.

Are you sure that it's the same?
Accountability with a real person (who maybe you even met in person) can be a much stronger deterrent than posting on some forum for pajama-clad, basement dwelling (ex)porn watchers...

I just want to throw another vote in for accountability software. I was very reluctant to add any accountability software for a multitude of reasons (privacy, shame, not wanting to constrict my freedom, cost, laziness etc. etc. etc.). But they were all excuses.

Having a buddy from here get notifications of allowed sites from Techloq (which is totally free and easy to set up) cut down my filter poking by like 75%. And that was something I seriously struggled with. Yes, the guy anyway knows I struggle. But that tiny drop of yiras basar v'dam is very helpful.

I agree it's probably a bad idea to have someone who isn't familiar with the struggle be the chaver. But maybe one of the guys you're in touch with would agree to do it. And I think you'll find it's more helpful than you imagine.

So the idea of having someone get a notification does sound like a good idea. Though do they have to approve it before techloq can approve it?

I 4th the motion (if you are considering it).
Having a real-time notification can be much more present than post-facto accountability.

That is an option for Techloq. You can add an admin who has to approve requests.
But what I did was add a second email to receive notifications when sites are approved. Both Techloq and Gentech can add that for free.

Btw thanks to Redfaced or Eerie for the idea. I think it was one of them who suggested this to me awhile back.

I very happily gave you a thank you for remembering it was me. Unfortunately I also needed to take away a karma for mistakenly thinking it was Eerie. Luckily you have 41 other karmas you can use to feed your kids.

You know what they say about karma. She can be a....

Wow I knew you were just in it for the fame and glory. Here I was thinking you were a nice guy. Silly mistake to make.

Looked back and confirmed it was you though Eerie told me about the techloq admin feature.

Re: Holy In Jerusalem 04 Dec 2024 00:49 #426439

Thank you to @chancy, @proudyungerman, @chosemyshem and @BenHashemBH for pushing me to add someone to get my filter notification. It is in the works.

A special thanks to @redfaced for being the one who originally told @chosemyshem.

Not to forget, the one who will be getting the emails, Thank You.

Regarding my day, can't say I was too productive but I can gladly say it's been a clean one!

WOW. He saw the errors of his ways and ran to fix it.

Can't say today was clean because I messed around a bit, but no P or M.

An accomplishment I had today was I added someone to my filter notifications. It's weird that they only get the approvals not the rejections but I hope it holds me back from poking around.

Hours of scrolling and porn.

Could use some chizuk.
