btw, there was once a thread here called: what do you wear to the tisch of the Rebbe m'Bardstown? and Bardichev replied: a meil raincoat with strukkes.

I am still not so sure what the strukkers are, but it might be that velvety material on the front of the bekkishe.

Additionally, do we need to be careful on this thread which language we use?

After two generations most of them came "back to the fold" in Boro Park and Flatbush and joined the thousands who live a very secluded lifestyle, a far cry from Milwaukee and Pittsburgh

and finally (please excuse the spelling; t'was from a non-English speakin' site): They can chnage the colour but not the design. the design is from the times of Reb Duvid'l lelover ilemalleh bekoidesh. It is made up of 26 parts keneged the shem havayeh, and there are lots of inyonim in evry bit of it al pi kabbuleh. for example, there is a strip going down the front of both sides, shorter on one side than the other, like the retzios of tefillin, vekuheinuh rabois. If you look at rebbishe bekitches with strukkes, you'll see they also have the strips goind down the front, and there are 26 hooks to tie it up.
