Gotta love that fellow, saunters up to the bimah for hagbah (yes, another rant about hagbah), opens the ס״ת to at least 6 columns, and then doesn’t even give the whole shul a view!

There is actually a (real) reason for this. 
On one hand, you’re always supposed to turn to your right (especially in shul), but on the the other hand, you wanna show the people on the right side of the shul first- which requires turning to the left.
So what some people do is simply turn a full circuit, going to the right. Others try to do a sort of quarter turn to the left-showing the people on the right, then go and turn all the way way around, right-wise. 
Others still do the quarter turn to the left, 3/4 turn to the right, and then promptly get hated on in The Grouchery for messing up over of the biggest honors of קריאת התורה.

And then there's that guy who does the partial turns and then also the full spin just for good measure. He's the same guy that shuffles side-to-side afterwards looking for the chair. I think he just wants to hold the Torah up for as long as possible. The poor gelila bochur in the meantime is on his 3rd time stepping forward and the ducking back out of the way.

And then you have the guy doing hagbah in a shul with a low ceiling and bangs the Torah once, and keeps spinning around and his the ceiling again like he forget there's a low ceiling...

I think that is the best way, 1/4 to left, then 1 and 1/4 to the right. 

About bumping into the ceiling, at least they are avoiding the Arur of those who barely lift it up high (chas veshalom)

And why does it seem to be a minhag to have a chandelier right above the bimah- ESPECIALLY in shuls with short ceilings? Do they WANT us to make the chandelier look like a carousel???

Yeah, so I finally worked up my nerve to ask my boss for a raise. Didn’t go over too well. 
And i just stubbed my already stubbed toe. It hurts a whole bunch.
