Ok I looked it up. Rashi in a bunch of places says it means shadow. And in Avodah Zara 48b he explains what "shadow of a shadow" means (in a different context). Ayen shom.

OTOH by the story of Shimon Hatzaddik and the Nozir it uses the same word and over there it means "reflection".

wait, look it up? you mean you're making me learn something?!?! i thought you were a nice guy!
i used to look back all the time saying "oh no! what have i done! Hashem help me erase the past." and i never heard a response.
finally i started looking forward saying "Hashem i'm leaving the past to you and i'm forgetting all about it. help me have a good future. help me from here and on be the person You want me to be." and that's where i realized Hashem had been waiting to help me all along

Here is the text of the Rashi. The gemara is talking about sitting in the shade of an asheirah tree.

Tzeil tzeilah and babua d'babua sound like two different things.
Because
a)they are spelled differently
b from the ariza"l (which btw freaked me out a bit) babua d'babua sounds like two separate things not an extension of one thing.

Btw zemmy, you might've been over lifnei iver on that arizal cause i'm not 40 yet, in ich bin nisht a chassidishe boochir

Also if babua d'babua means tzeil tzeilah then we're in deep trouble, because it's one thing if it's two shadows and another if it's just a longer shadow. We can't just tell any suspect to wait here while we get the tape measure.

And two intersecting shadows can be a shadow in a shadow if you look at where it is closer to the person before they split. It's a bit darker at the beginning then gets lighter when they split.
