There is a scam going around about someone claiming they saw your browser history and are blackmailing you. It is not real. It was posted on the lakewood scoop.

The Battle of the Generation by Hillel S. has been a huge help for me.  Message me to find out how you can receive a free copy.

some of the experiences I write about may make it easier to identify me.  This is ok.  I trust that if anyone discovers my identity they will keep it to themselves.  If you do realize that you  know me, I am completely comfortable and welcome you acknowledging me and my struggle in person.

That reminds me of an old joke my friend told me. We were talking about what we wanted written on our gravestones, and one of my friends said he wanted "Someone delete my browser history ASAP."

There are many versions of this scam. Check out this interesting recent take from Krebs on Security: krebsonsecurity.com/2024/09/sextortion-scams-now-include-photos-of-your-home/

I just love that the Lakewood Scoop can openly admit that their audience has shameful things in their browser history and would fall for this scam . . .

Saw a post online once. Someone shared their computer background. It was text that said something like, "If you are reading this it means I'm dead. Please, for the sake of my memory immediately delete the folder named X, empty the recycle bin, delete the browsing history, and purge the caches."

Pretty funny

I tried putting ketchup on it but then I couldn't read it.

So I tried licking it off but I just got a red face.
