I saw in the wall of honor some people with more than 1000 days, how is this possible? They registered the site more than 1000 days?

1,000 days is under 3 years.

There are people on here who are clean a lot longer than that.

It's possible.... one day at a time.

Impressive, isn't it? You'll be there too! There are people associated with this community with more than four times that amount. It's very, very, very, very possible!

Btw' DOV is sober for over 16 years if not for more.
Don't you read the Daily Chizuk Emails?

But we really have to focus on our recovery, and we can learn from those who succeeded how to do it correctly.

I personally derive chizuk from updating the woh every so often. For me its pleasurable seeing the count going up ... And it adds responsibility to my task and another duty in my life. Hatzlacha to all.

Yeah, I agree Newaction. I sometimes think that the Wall of Honor is a replacement addiction for me, but it's healthy (if that makes any sense). It's good, I guess, as long as it doesn't represent the entire focus of your recovery process. That is, as long as you don't lose sight of the forest from the trees, and not let a WoH reset (I know -- they're horrible) totally take you off the derech, using that tool "religiously" is good.

During my absence from the forums, updating the WoH, even on a daily (okay, multiple times, daily) basis was the only form of participation on GYE for me. It kept me tethered to the community, and was a tangible way of cauterizing that gangrenous, putrid act from my newly born path to sobriety. In another words, marking in a fall is kind of a way of telling yourself: "It happened; I'm done; I'm moving on!"

WOW I just noticed a guy on the 90 day chart that has had a clean streak of 700 days and now is going 80. That is very scary and sobering. Gotta keep alert. There is always a new nisayon waiting around the corner.
But the amazing thing is he didn't give up.
But something is a bit strange. How does he have only 445 cumulative days but 700 is his longest streak?
Maybe the 700 was before he joined GYE. I wish you continued hatzlacha if you are reading this and thanks for the inspiration.

I once spent a lot of time tryin' to figure out those numbers.
I also asked people with long streaks how they fell afterwards.

Bottom line: Accept the things we cannot change, but work like hell to be vigilant.

I had once by mistake rested my chart and GYE couldn't restore it for me, So I had start from zero. I then wrote my longest strike, but my cumulative days were displayed on zero.

while we're on the subject... ('Fishel Bug Report) The 90-day page shows a cumulative count but the WOH (90+) page doesn't.

To me the cumulative count is more important that the current streak because it represents the totality of all our efforts regardless of how many times we may have fallen and gotten up again.

Thank you all.. I have another question
when I signed up for the first time I was asked about my clean cumulative days, and I didn't mention how many days, can i fix it?
I have a few hundred days.

If I understand you correctly
We can only start counting after we start using the chart or when we are counting privately.
When we don't count our days, we don't allays recognize that we fell.
Looking at P for more than 3 seconds is a FALL.
But you can always ask at <gye.help@gmail.com>
