don't know about a few blocks but if you sit in a few hours worth traffic [pkak] and then rush back really really quickly you can make it.

btw the pros of learning in a litvish yeshiva- there was a whole hock about if a ger is nisgayar the first day of purim in bnei brak, if he has a chiyuv to go to yerushalayim so that he can be yoitze- peerimtoires

be'emes, it is a good thing to appreciate what GYE has done for so many and for me specifically. before GYE i was in the dark. looking at bad stuff. feeling bad about it. hiding. feeling like some mutated armadillo. not seeing how the lusting is not the problem, it is the solution i used to comfort myself in the face of my real problems.
now i am not cured or fixed or unpickled, but at least i am more aware of what's going on inside, seeing the resentments, fears and insecurities for what they are. friends who can identify are probably the greatest gift i have gotten from GYE, second only to a new lease on yiddishkeit which has gotten more real and relevant than ever before.
Reb Guard shlita, thank you so much!

and to my friends, bechol makom shehaim, i love you and i thank you for being my friend and for your support chizuk advice jokes recipes and coupons.
and to myself and to anyone else the best thing to do is to keep on posting, zamboniing, hummering, trucking, tomato dipping, SINGING, cholinting and kugeling ad bias hagoel.

Thanks for that. Just zoomin by.  Another thing that helped is how honest you are with all of us.

Unembelleshed 100% emes story:  Drove 350 miles to spend Shabbos with my son.  The car overheated and I had to drive super slow.  then a traffic jam.  I'm sure I'm ending up stashing the car and walking.  I turn on the radio for traffic news around the jam.  What comes on?  "Shabbat Shalom, Shabbat Shalom, Shabbat Shabbat Shabbat Shabbat Shalom"!!!!!!!!  A Hispanic Jewish radio station, wishing everyone Shabbat Shalom.  (I made it with 4 minutes to spare to Licht Benching).  The lengths Hashem goes to remind us He can do anything, anytime, anywhere.

Thank you for reminding us that the goal of getting clean isn't getting clean, anymore than that the goal of tefillin is to be tefillin.  Nope, they have to be used.  Being clean has to be used.  L'sheym Shamayim, to be ever growing closer to Him, that He can bestow on us more of His Chesed/Gedolah.  That we can be better used for tikun olam, to bring Moshiach, may He come speedily in  our days.  Then we can say, boy am I glad I was a pervert and did all that acting out.  How else could I get to know this, feel this, do this?

I was at a meeting yesterday where someone shared a painful experience from the past and then said that they couldn't be in the happy place they are in now, if they haven't experienced that pain then.
So sometimes we don't even have to wait for Moshiach (may he come speedily in our days) to feel G-d's presence in our lives and to feel alive.
Not to distract from our waiting for Moshiach or anything...
Baby steps.
If the road is pulling you down, it's a sign that you are going uphill, so just press harder on the gas!

Have a great day - unless, of course, you made other plans.
