Since Baal HaTanya requires eating rice only within a meal (to avoid brocho confusion), I always figure that fish is the Ikkar, and the rice is there to merely hold it in place, so in my kitchen sushi is shehakol...

It would seem to me that your figuring aside the Baal Hatanya would have advised you to you wash on a nice piece of stone ground whole wheat pumpernickel bread.

we should totally have a gye sushi party

belated MAN reminder

and a thank you to all MAN people
i find this small but important project to be very beneficial in fostering appreciation, promoting the idea that the wife is a person and not a candy-machine and general shalom bayis.

off to mincha now

"is not a candy machine".  this is true inspiration, chochmadikke inspiration.  I'm not around much these days.  Many stories.  Pain free.  Surgery soon for complete solution, BZ"H, parnassah headed north, and lady friend coming in from Switzerland for a visit.  My boys are being distant.  this used to drive me straight to the computer.  Now I just daven for their well being.

I hope this finds you in peace, and close to your most precious Maker.  Who is also not a candy machine, now that I think about it.

Much love,
Yoyel

For those who don't know, the lady friend is a possible shidduch and no more.
I love the line "My boys are being distant.  This used to drive me straight to the computer.  Now I just daven for their well being.", that's real progress!
And Hashem is not a candy machine!
The Blind Beggar is a character in Rebbe Nachman's story of the Seven Beggars.
If I view a woman as an object, I am powerless over lust, but I don't have to look.
I can guard my eyes.
I want to guard my eyes.
I do guard my eyes.
Why do I say these four lines?

idaat, thanks for checking in!

sounds very good, the northern parnassa, the Swiss imports, the davening for the kiddos. i will daven that you surgery goes well and leaves you feeling like a brand new 2013 Ford Explorer with chrome hubcaps - or a sushi maker - or a candy machine...

with much gratitude to HKBH for getting me here and to my friend UAJ for inspiring this whole project i am happy to celebrate a siyum on a stack of post it notes. tonight is MAN and i will be opening a new package iy'h. lechaim!

ויה"ר שאזכה להתחיל ולסיים עוד קופסאות של פאוס"ט אי"ט נאוט"ס מתוך נחת והרחבת הדעת אכי"ר

lekovod purim:

Chanukah is chinuch-heh, meaning chinuch has to done by showing the geshmack of yiddishkeit, chinuch needs the letter 'heh', which denotes pleasure, like when you eat or smell something good you say ahhhhhhh.... which is the sound of heh. (heard for the Kaliver Rebbe shlita)

but it's not so simple...
it says הלנו אתה אם לצרינו
meaning that the 'heh' can go both ways, heh-lanu, or letzareinu
Haman was heh-man. why? because he put the 'H' in wine, making it into whine....

here is to chanuka-hay for all on purim, with lots of wine and no whine, lechaim!
