Something bothering me is that whenever I think of my past when I was single, the first thought that comes to mind is "Oh man, that was the life, I could just act out as much as I wanted and nobody really cared. Just eat and act out". I don't know if anyone can relate, looking at the past with such longing? I really have to tell myself afterwards that I am in a MUCH better place right now, wife kids responsibility purpose. And eventually I realise the longing is false. It's funny really.

I did not realise that life was so great until I got married. By then it was too late

Thanks reb Meyer!

A quick checkin.

Sober about 2 months. Loving lockdown life. No commute hassles, no social awkwardness, work from home and surrounded by loving family.

Awesome job doing web development. Leading a small team and working on people skills.

I see all posts here when people have just acted out and they try and kinda explain what happened and I hear a lot of stuff and make up a lot of stuff myself! But really it's just so bizarre there's really no real explanation to it. I recall the part in the big book where it says "and if you ask the alcoholic honestly, he'll tell you he has just as little of an idea why he drank again than you do"
I've tried for years to find the right words.
I see there are no right words. Just action.
God, may I be useful today.

I'm also working shorter hours too.
Loving it too.
