Try to breathe and just focus on one task at a time. Looking at a project as a whole could seem like a lot more than it really is and produce stress.

See, the road to 90 (which I am on again) is a noble one and can be very productive, but it also has the drawback of looking ahead. "Oy, how will I ever get there? Its so far away!" Many posters here say to "focus on the moment at hand." Not even one day at a time, but rather....each second...make this decision the right one.
The days will accumulate as you (we) go.
So, 90 days is a total of hundreds or even thousands of decisions (hopefully one needs to make less of them as the days go by) that were made in a positive sense.
I write for you, others and for myself.

I've head many times from R'A Schorr that when we say in maariv, "V'haseir sattan m'lifaneinu u'meachareinu", this refers to the discouraging feelings that arise when looking at ones past or looking at the task ahead. Focus on our past misdeeds can lead a person to think, "what's the point? I've messed up so much already".

Looking at the potentially gargantuan task of doing teshuva and living a proper Torah life can also lead a person to think, "how will I ever do THAT"

Our job is to do the right thing (just for) now.

(...with the skills and emotions that we have now. In the future we will have a different set of tools. So don't worry about the future right now - my own hoisofo)
Roy in the SA White Book noted that we frequently prayed and it did not work...because the best we could muster was begging G-d to "Please take it away, so I will not have to give it up!

Wow
That's a powerful vort for those words
I'm gonna try to use them tonight
I still need to create that "lust for hashem" mode that people have been saying.

I'm wondering if we should make a forum or booklet of vorts on tefillah that paarticulary address our situation.
Perhaps it will allow us to connect more by tefillah.

I say us; I mean myself and whoever else might have a connection problem by davening, esspecially due to the distance we put in between.

Thank you

Hi My Dear Friends,
I have told the YH so many times that I dont want to play with him. He keeps coming to the door and tells me "I know that you really do want to play with me". I saw a post about the innkeeper who wanted to change his clientele so he just kept his door locked until the dirty and vulgar boors stopped knocking at his door. Then he was able to renovate and create a welcoming environment for fine upper class gentlemen.
Well my inn is still on the go to list for the Y"H but my doors are bolted closed. The bolts are getting loose from the steady pounding of the vulgar boors who used to frequent my joint.
I will continue to tighten and reinforce my door until the boors just stop coming and give up on my place. Then I can welcome the RBS"O with open arms.
I am being a bit aggressive asking the RBS"O to help me clean up the joint and help me keep the bolts secure. I think I'll just hand over the keys to the joint to the RBS"O and relinquish my control to him. He will reinforce my door bolts and help me get everything cleaned up and prepared for the high class guests that I look foward to welcoming into my inn.
Hashem, PLEASE HELP ME!!!

Hello my dear friends,
With my slipping and sliding all summer long, i have missed the opportunity to make Erev Yom kippur as my day 90 and fell out of the holy group of this noble goal. I feel stranded on the side with trains whizzing by while i am left behind.
Today I am boarding the train and although i missed many opportunities in the past, my new opportunity begins right now.
I would love to find partners to reach our goal of 90 days the week before Chanukah.
Dear friends, please join me on my train as we come closer to the RBS"O and claim our lives back from the clutches of the YH.

Standing passengers who just boarded, please hold on tight to the overhead bars so you don't slip and fall. If you are uncertain about your destination, please ask the passenger sitting next to you for guidance.
