(Btw, when I get very busy spending hours focused on doing the right thing in the moment, it helps when in a private conversation, Oownanoowmin will shock me into seeing the bigger picture, by reminding me to keep in mind my long term goals and maintain structure throughout my day.)

chasidim misnagdim?!
isn't there also a chasidishe zog (Gerrer Rebbe)something about aiming for the stars at least that way you'll get out of the blotteh
won't stay in the mud
also, the other way- famous zohar (i think mishneh brura brings it somewhere) that if one saves food or worries about what he will eat the next day is miktaney amana
also yadua, the tzanzer couldn't sleep if he had money left somewhere (today do all you can for today and don't worry about tomorrow)

It's a Gemara in Sotah:
אמר ר' אליעזר: "כל מי שיש לו פת בסלו ואומר מה אוכל למחר – אינו אלא מקטני אמנה" (סוטה מח, ע"ב)

I heard from one of my Rebbes that there is a difference in this subject, between Ruchniyus and Gashmiyus.
For Gashmiyus the Ideal way is that if you have what you need for today, you don't get involved for tomorrow.
But for Ruchniyus, you should never be "satisfied" and should constantly be striving for more and more.
Also there is a difference, even in Gashmiyus, between "being worried" about tomorrow, which that is not allowed, as the gemara says that if he says "ma ochel lemachar", he's worried "what will I eat tomorrow" that's ketanei amuna, but one may and should DAVEN to Hashem for parnasa and that Hashem should CONTINUE to supply him with all that he needs.
Once he davens and does the necessary hishtadlus there is no place for "Worry" about tomorrow.

i was going to post about the topic being discussed but i guess your right its time to change topic and get back to real life not the theoretical vikuchim , i actually wrote a long post yesterday about the topic then when i was ready to submit i lost it and had no energy to rewrite it (in short its about the way R' Elchonon Wasserman explains the Ramba"m that writes every body can reach the level of moshe rabainu he explains means the way moshe served hashem to his greatest ability so to we can serve hashem to our greatest level of avodas hashem not that we can really be like moshe)

but i guess in general what count now is not to count just ONE DAY AT A TIME!!!!

Sew buttons!!

Why does there have to be a "so"?

I was just being honest and getting it out. The second that I saw that on the screen, I thought to myself "that's the dumbest (or almost the dumbest) thing to do!! Go out and call a friend, you're obviously in your head too much."

I did just that, even went on an errand that I didn't really want to, and did it gracefully!

Why did everyone get so uptight? Am I the only one that wants these things? Is it wrong to want?

sheesh!!!!

I've given up on that. I can't control my desires, and when I try, I give into them. I let them go, give them up, it's much simpler, and more liberating, and bares (is that the right word?) greater results.

Thanks everyone for the feedback, it's good to know that when I write something, it's seen and I'll have to answer for it!!

sheesh!!!![/quote]

I don't believe my response was uptight; I thought it was a "go with the flow" type of response, and gave you the opportunity to do precisely what you ended up doin'.
