The Besht said that after He went up to the highest madreigos and used to come back and say "emunah peshutah", I'm trying to get to the first part

Dear shivisi, the point here is practicality, what we are going to do about it. I notice that on that part you didn't comment, so we'll leave it at that (for public). We need to believe that everything is coming from Hashem, and we also need to do things for the right reason, yet they are two separate things, for we are not Hashem.

This is NOT chakira. Its learning the Alef Bais yesoides of what Emuna to have, and what the tachlis (not the reason, the tachlis) of the avoidas haodom is.
This is not about the WHYs its all about the WHATs.
Sefer choivos Halvovos is totally NOT a chakira sefer, and he has a whole shaar on the subject of "yichud Hamaaseh" - Doing everything for the sake of Hashem.

there isnt always an action to take.
i used to look back all the time saying "oh no! what have i done! Hashem help me erase the past." and i never heard a response.
finally i started looking forward saying "Hashem i'm leaving the past to you and i'm forgetting all about it. help me have a good future. help me from here and on be the person You want me to be." and that's where i realized Hashem had been waiting to help me all along

What do you mean?

There is always something we are doing, we are never really just sitting idle. If it's not jumping jacks, we can still talk, if not to someone else, then to Hashem or even ourselves.

Every minute that I have is an opportunity to use it to actualize (cool!! the beginning of actualize is "act", because knowledge isn't enough to make it real, we need to act on it) and ingrain in myself that Hashem runs the world and I'm here for a purpose. I'm not saying that I use every opportunity, but with that mindset, I'm using much more of them than I used to!!

And not only talking is considered action, Even just trying to learn new ways to grow, or thinking about our situation in order to realize what needs improvement can also be considered action, [as long as it doesn't end with just thoughts].
The proof is that Emunah is a Mitzvas ASEH, "aseh" means DO! ACT! and even more relevant to our subject "Lo Sasuru" is a mitzvas Lo Taaseh! so the opposite, ie inappropriate thoughts, looking where we shouldn't etc. is a negative ACTION! and Teshuva is a positive ACTION, its a mitzvas ASEH.
(Lichoira its seems that there must be a difference between "ma'aseh" and "Aseyah". There is a "lav she'ayn bo ma'aseh but its still called a Mitzvas Lo Ta'aseh, (וצריך עוד עיון].
Most of our lives we are involved with some kind of action or anotherתת either positive action or the opposite chas vesholom.

i wrote my comment in response to the whole emunah and bitachon thing. i am going through a very difficult situation and for me the hardest part is that there is nothing that i can do. i know that Hashem Runs the world and that i am here for a purpose thats not where i am struggling. its seeing the pain of a loved one and trying to translate the whole philosophical discussion about emunah and bitachon into something that can talk to my raw emotions.
i used to look back all the time saying "oh no! what have i done! Hashem help me erase the past." and i never heard a response.

IT IS HOT LIKE GEHENIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even here, in the alps of Yerushalyim, it is stifling!!! Time to turn on the air conditioning!!

Whew, I noticed that I'm not so interested in replying to posts...not a good sign. So I decided to write one up of my own.

By the grace of Hashem, and His Sheeluchim (770) GYE and OINK, I have been living!! I find myself doing things and being surprised that I'm not getting all bent out of shape about it!! Like when I take something from the kitchen to the dining room and then remember that forgot something in the kitchen, I just go back and do it, it used to be soooooo aggravating in the past, but now...it's just part of life, and I can smile as I go back!!!

I went through a situation this week where I got royally insulted by someone, and with the help of friends (and family) I was able to deal with it maturely and finally realize that it was all a big mistake!! That is only because I have learned how to be open and honest, to be able to express my feelings, even seemingly "bad" ones, and being open to realizing that they aren't the truth as much as I may feel they are.

Thank you Hashem!!!

and Thank You GYE and all my friends!!!

The Besht also used to bring down the Pasuk "שומר פתאים ה" "Hashem guards fools"

I just saw that the Radak (yes I'm learning tehillim with radak) explains that the reason that Hashem guards fools is because when they hit a situation they get all lost and they have no choice but to trust in Hashem, and because of that trust, Hashem protects them. However, a clever person first tries getting out of the situation through his ideas, and doesn't trust in Hashem.

Halevai we'd just be fools.....but since we're not, we might as well just trust in Hashem right away, after all, that's where it's at at the end of the game anyway!!

What the Radak means is that DURING the time when the "clever" person is trying to get out of the situation through his ideas, and doesn't trust in Hashem, at that time Hashem says "OK, you think you're smart??? I'll leave you to your own devices, let's see how well you can manage"!
and that's when he doesn't have Hashem with him, [of course Hashem is always involved, He just "pretends, כביכול, that He is leaving the person alone].
But when that person finally realizes that without Hashem he has nothinng! then he reaches a level which the simple person doesn't have, and that is that he KNOWS that only with Hashem's help is it possible to deal with any situation.
Annd that's why the Besh"t only used the "Ich bin a naar" method AFTER he went through all the levels first.

sorry yankel but i think your wrong if the Besht was saying that after high madreigos you reach emunah peshutah then he would have to tell the oilam to work on big madreigos,

but instead he wanted to bring out that the main point is the emunah peshutah not the high madreigos and even after all the great madreigos it still boils down to emunah peshutah,

Of course!!!! That's what the was for

and shivisi, I don't know exactly where you are differing from what I wrote, but again, let's do it in PM's as it seems to be a little sidestepping the point....

TRUST IN HASHEM!!!!! period

JEEBS!!!! My thread got knocked off first page.......AGAIN!!!!

I'll fix that!!!

I've been having significant urges to
:pinch: Warning: Spoiler!
lately. It's not the end of the world, but it is certainly an indicator of something.

I need to be more productive. Don't know with what exactly.....actually that's not true. It's just that I need to change my schedule around so that the things that I need koach for I do when I have koach and the things that I don't need koach for I can do when I'm tired.

Hmm..nothing concrete there, but at least I got my thread back on the first page
