Inspiration without action is like fireworks. Looks beautiful, but then it goes up in smoke.

Roy in the SA White Book noted that we frequently prayed and it did not work...because the best we could muster was begging G-d to "Please take it away, so I will not have to give it up!

To my dear,sweet brothers.
I want to thank you all, especially, the creators and administrators of GYE, for saving my life. Today is my 84th sober day, BH!!. I have a new relationship with Hashem and am trying to be more real with those around me, especially my wife and children.
I have especially benefitted from the conference calls, where i also made friends and met my sponsor
. Just a short while ago, i felt so alone, that Hashem would never forgive me, that despite being a "good guy", i knew what a fake i was. GYE has shown me, with the help of my therapist, that acting out in lust can destroy all other goodness in our lives. And yet, in light of my addiction and budding recovery, i see now how wonderful and beautiful life is becoming in its absence!
I still have taavos and am working the program. ( i'm on step 8)
I want to wish you all the clarity to see beyond the "now" when taavah strikes, and, with the help of Hashem, achieve lasting recovery!
I love you all! Thank you!!
Yaakov

Welcome to the club Yaakov1324.

I think 1324 is the number of times you said no to the yetzer hora in the past 83 three days(maybe...)

I fell this morning.

I had began slipping two weeks ago and didn't hit the emergency brakes quick enough until things snowballed out of control. Spent an hour looking for porn on youtube last night on (another) old smart phone lying around, didn't get enough sleep and this morning... Wham!

(I know this happened once before and I was insane for thinking there would be different results)

what I did to get moving again:
  1. I threw the batteries out
  2. I made a personal 90 chart on the new-and-improved 90-day chart and shared it with my safe friend
  3. we spoke what I did and how it can be prevented in the future
