My favorite point from the last bunch of posts is that - true, what zeida took a lifetime to lose we can lose in a minute. But conversely, what zeida took a lifetime to gain, we too can gain in a minute. (Like one quick minute of a walk to shul, the supermarket, and definetely one walk down any street in manhattan.... I wonder what the gematria of manhattan equals. Prolly gehenom or sdom...)

hi guys i'm having a rough time in the street thing, i have been in a place (against my will) that there and many tests its hard to get through it, i try hard but sometimes find my self taking a tiny peek(maybe more then a tiny one) I'LL KEEP ON TRUCKING BUT COULD USE ENCOURAGEMENT!

Thanks guys for your support, i am doing alot better but not as on guard as before, i am being mechazik myself to get back there. I don't consider it a complete fall but i did let my very high guard down, i was in a place where there were alot of oiness happenings and it was hard to turn away. I even caught myself try so search for bad picks but thats why i have a filter and didn't get anywhere B"H thats bec i have fences to yes even though i did try but bec of my fence i did not succeed and gave up and felt bad what i did and kept on trucking with the good feeling that my fences helped me. Even with this little slip i am still doing a billion times better then i have done in the past summers. so whats my plan? to keep on going don't think i have lost anything but to get better and better so then i can even be on guard even in times like i had this past week.

i'm going to have limited access for the next week, but don't worry where ever i am this is on the top on my list of things to do - GUARD MY EYES

So I'm replying a bit late.  You say "what zeida took a lifetime to lose we can lose in a minute".  I'm not sure I agree.  I was learning Sifsei Chayim from R Chayim Freidlander around Tisha B'av and he discusses how it is possible for us to rebuild the B"H, when tannaim and amoraim couldn't.  It's in the 3rd chelek on page 355 (that is שנה).  One thing he says is that we are almost begeder tinok shenishba and our aveiros aren't as bad as theirs(I am not condoning aveiros - don't get me wrong).  True, we are not on as high a madreiga, but neither are our aveiros.  You can look it up to see his whole shtickle torah.  He basically says, that we have an even greater chance to rebuild the B"H than they did, because of how low our madreiga is.  That is both a happy and sobering thought.

Will trt to look @ that bli neder. The point I meant was that we see what zeida never saw... Every minute. So when we see it can be destructive, but conversely the same time, when we avoid looking we are GAINING an accomplishment much more valuable than what they had to overcome.

hey guys checking in over here, still having a hard time on the street, i do look away some times but have to admit not always, its hard i'm not in my regular environment and that makes it harder bec i broke my routine. I have to work on it that it carries over to all places and all environments that i might find myself in, any ideas for this?

I'm taking one day at a time and i hope to have a clean day tomorrow, and lets not forget EEELUUUULLL! is coming soon will be the yom hadin and i want to feel clean!

hey guys hashem himself just stopped me  from being a bad boy, you see my wife was online and she wanted to see a clip from you tube so she put in the password that i don't know but k9 gives you 15 min to allow the site, so when she finished after 7 min and left the room i have that real crave we all know too well... so i went on you tube but for some reason it was slow and by the time i got any where it was already 15 min, so B"h i was saved from the one above. I feel that being i have made strong effort in the past couple of months hashem is telling me i 'know its hard here let me help you' i am happy to have been helped from hashem and now i have to work on being better in my part of the game.

next time try a slightly diffrent approach:
i wont look only for the next minute, then only for one more minute, one minute at a time

hey guys, checking in here, i have had a slight fall, i wasn't MZ"L but i did see porn for about 10 seconds all together, i was a big test, i failed at first but then stopped my self, and the reason i stopped was bec of my nedder, i didn't want to fast the next day, so there you see it that tool worked for me, yes i saw 10 seconds but if not for that i would have been a gonner. the reason for the fall is something that doesn't happen often that i had access to unfiltered internet, and i usually have strong filters, but this time i had access and i looked but stopped. I am not down and look at it as a success that i didn't fall hard and it stopped in its tracks. Elul is coming and its a time for teshuvah going over the tools and keeping strong and preventing that from happening again. As far as the street, it can be better, i back to normal life and now its time to strengthen the fences.
