I would love to have the phone number to the Shurim that you can call into. One of you guys gave it to me and I can't seem to find it

When you say that "They are family good at opening pages when I request it"... Do you mean that you have to call someone and they decide whether or not it is acceptable ?

So the Fig Flip for daily "out of the home " use and the curated Pixel for things at home? That sounds like a good combination. I don't mind going "old school" and pulling out a Credit Card, but Uber and not having a camera with me and access to emails would be quite a change.. but I think that I could handle it.... The best filter is a phone without access! and that is what I want to strive for

Thanks so much!

My wife and I both have flip phones. We have computers at home, all of them are filtered by Techloq - it works great for us. For a camera, we use an old (?) fashion digital camera with an SD card, yes sometimes it feels stupid to have one when everyone around you has huge phones with 5 camera lenses on them....my wife is usually the one to quickly remind me why it is that we have made this decision.
You can win the fight, but I'll have to live with the loser.

Any excuse you use for yourself, you must be willing to use for your wife.

Not Always can I understand others, but I can always respect their wishes.

You're human, it's okay.

In my job in IT, I have often mentioned how I have access to so many unfiltered devices on a daily basis. I just came across an old iPhone 7 turned in by an employee. I did my usual routine of wiping the phone and getting it ready to recycle, and I thought about an idea. This old phone had a terrible battery, it was slow, and the screen was dull and badly scratched. The software was not updated, and basically, the phone was ready for the scrap heap.

My job requires me to carry an iPhone and issues me a new one every year (what a waste of money), but they never said which iPhone I had to carry. Maybe I should use this old piece of junk instead of my sparkling iPhone 15 Pro Max? I wouldn't have to explain myself to anyone, and my boss and the employees could still reach me when needed.

This tiny bit of friction might reduce the desire to look at inappropriate things, and while it is not a solution to the problem, it might be a little step in the right direction.

As I constantly whine about it, my goal is to have a Kosher Flip Phone in my pocket every day and eliminate as much tech as humanly possible. Maybe this is a tiny step in the right direction.

if you're carrying an iPhone just to fulfill you're companies requirements, then why don't you carry an iPhone one? doesn't even have 3G.

Certain requirements have to be met, but there is nothing that an iPhone 7 or maybe even an iPhone 5 couldn't do. It has to take and make calls and iMessage and Zoom meetings and a few other things.

I bought an iPod knock-off. I am going to fill it with good Kosher Shuirs and learning. Does anyone recommend a particular website? I use Torah Anytime often, but this thing has 128 GB of storage, and I want to fill it up.

Amazing and inspiring!!

Have you heard of Mercaz Daf Yomi, shiur given by R' Eli Stefansky? Available on many platforms. Live on zoom, also available on kol halason, allDaf, WhatsApp and many more. This is a shiur like no other.

I'm looking to create a filter for a flip phone that will allow the GYE app, either from scratch or by getting a filter company to allow it.
I'm mainly making this for yeshiva bochurim who don't have access to GYE in yeshiva.
If your interested in helping, either by helping to write up a nusach to send to filtering companies, or if have you have experience with rooting and/or editing android roms, please reach out to me.
