Not much to report. I have been physically distanced from Sarah for the last week and I hope to go back to my old place tomorrow determined not to deify, objectify or lust after her. I need to move on. On this thread no news is good news.

Now everyone should please go to the Shteeble www.guardyoureyes.org/forum/index.php?topic=4840.0 and vote for Gmail with Thunderbird.
The Blind Beggar is a character in Rebbe Nachman's story of the Seven Beggars.
If I view a woman as an object, I am powerless over lust, but I don't have to look.
I can guard my eyes.
I want to guard my eyes.
I do guard my eyes.
Why do I say these four lines?

Hello BB,

may I respctfully suggest you tape a picture of your wife and kids onto your computer or place them as a screen background as reminder as to what truly is precious in your life.  Glad to hear things are going well with you at work keeping a distance etc. Keep up the good work and keep the chart going.

BTW everything I am saying is for myself as well...

I have a large collection of the highest quality clothes and I always have the correct garment for any given occasion. I make shoes, and they are always as sweet as sugar.

If you understood Zemiros Shabbos's question, you will understand my answer. If you really understood the question and answer you are a tremendous mekubal, please daven for Moshiach.

I am certain that I am a (very) great mekubal, yet I can't figure out your exchange.

Hmmmm....something's wrong here.

The sign of a great mekubal is total denial of being a great mekubal .

Zemmy's question and my answer are both based on references to Rebbe Nachman's story about the Chochom and the Tam. If you understood the question, you understood the answer. Since Rebbe Nachman's stories are based on the greatest secrets of Kabboloh,  if you really understood the question and answer you are a tremendous mekubal.

  Shalom Friend,
We had a special guest at our Friday SA meeting here in E"Y. Nicholas from the U.K. with 16 years of sobriety. He said as you have heard before, that obviously it is not the acting out that is the problem, we have a sickness to lust. Lust in ALL forms. WE simply cannot tolerate it. Therefore, he said that we must become sober from lust, (i.e. not getting it in any manner, via our eyes nor our filthy minds through fantasy etc.. We must "give it up totally"!!!!

That's right Joel, I have stopped going crazy over Sarah now. She is just one of about 7 triggery women in the office and I have to guard my eyes and my mind from every one of them equally. I am sure that most offices in chutz learetz have much greater nisyonos, it's just new to me after being in kollel. Yerushalayim was not built in one day, we all need a progressive victory over lust.

I had to speak to not-crazy-over-her-anymore Sarah today and I noticed that besides her totally un-tznius clothing she is actually beautiful. I was reminded of an old song, "She's 16, she's beautiful, and she's mine." and then I realized that the truth is she's beautiful and she's not mine.
Later on, she asked me the correct time and direction to daven mincha.
I got an email full of not-quite-porn pictures today. The first thing I did was to turn off the screen but then I turned it on again and closed the window without looking. Next time I'll call a woman over to do it for me.

One day, as we all know, at a time.

Ayayayay...!!  call a woman to turn it off ??  Gimme a break sounds like Yetzi yetzi is working his charms again... !!!
Maybe you just put your hand or a paper over the screen and shut the window YOURSELF !!

I guess I am lucky that i work in the Government where they have all sorts of filters... But you know I could still find light stuff if I was looking...  I guess i am boring as all I have open all day aside from my work web pages is GYE, Gmail, Finance, and a Torah shiurim download page, and occasionally, the bus schedule...

The shiurim are what keep my mind occupied in Holy thoughts...

Hey, i should check off a couple of days clean on my chart.

BB, I am glad things are getting less lustier and you notice less triggerring women, except, of course, when they ask you for directions to Mizrach.

I am glad I dont have that Nisayon....

I apologize in advance for my sarcasm...only intended mildly....
