I have been dealing lately with a couple where the wife busted her husband and found out all about his infidelity. The massage parlors, the porn, the phone relationships. As you can all imagine, all hell broke loose
And I found it fascinating that this woman is mostly destroyed by the fact that her husband was shmoozing with Jewish women on the phone. Women he never met. In her words, the having sex in the massage parlors, the porn, even the discussing inappropriate things on chat lines, that doesn't kill her. She understands that men can have a tayva, and they'll do crazy things to get their tayva fulfilled. Of course it bothers her, very much so, but it doesn't kill her. It's the shmoozing about stam things with those Jewish women that he found on those cursed chat lines that she can't forgive. In her words, "am I not even good enough for a conversation?"
There's the part that she sees this as a relationship, as a threat to her own, etc. Bottom line is, a woman can be much more distraught that her husband is casually shmoozing with another women in an inappropriate setting, than she is by the fact that he had sex with other women

my wife felt so validated when i read her this post
'i thought i was the only one who cared more when u shmooze with the nieghbur than when youd go to a prostitute'

I don't know if anybody pointed this out to the oilam yet.
The changing of the clock is hard. Erev purim stress is hard. Tired, stressed people have a harder time withstanding urges.
Tired, stressed people that reach out to friends have been BH quite successful

There. That's seems a little more seasonally appropriate.

Saw a beautiful vort

Someone came to the Chazon Ish, he had done terrible things, and his past was not letting him move on.

The Chazon Ish told him, the gemara says הרהורי עבירה קשה מעבירה, said the Chazon Ish, the thoughts about the aveirah that a person has done, the thoughts of yiush, of feeling so low and disgusted with oneself, those thoughts are really worse than the aveirah itself! Your worst enemy are not your past misdeeds, but the way you view yourself as a result of them

Dearest Chaveirim, KEEP ON TRUCKING!

I try to share only encouraging, happy messages
Friends, please allow me to share and unload some pain
Got a text: Okay so to make it short. I'm a 15 year old girl. My family got a new computer that's never meant to be connected to the internet, so it's not tagged at all. I figured out my parents Wi-Fi password and started going through things like TikTok and such stuffI can stay up until like 4am watching things because that's the only time that no one's around

It's so sad. Here's a girl, exposed, struggling, not knowing what to do. Her parents are oblivious, thinking that there's no problem with the computer, right? Perhaps they don't know anything about wifi. But as parents raising children in today's world, we all have to stay in the know.

It is incumbent upon us to be knowledgeable. Otherwise we run the same risk as above.
Perhaps once a year we should be doing bedikas hadevices, checking every device whether they are truly safe

Hashem Yeracheim Aleinu

P.s. No, I don't help girls. I send them to a helpful person from the women's side of GYE.

Is the chiddush here that it's a girl?

Because this general story is probably how ~75% of us got started.

Definitely how I got started. Except by me TikTok didn't exist yet (Youtube did. And they used to let much more interesting things on youtube lemme tell ya.) And the computer was "filtered." Anyone remember k9? lol. Oh, and my parents almost certainly knew/suspected what was going on. They just didn't know how to deal with it (or turning a blind eye perhaps was the best way of dealing with it. Who knows.)

Or maybe there's no chiddush and you're just trying to unload. Eerie, you're welcome to hang out and unload anytime!
