My wife pointed out to me that what I thought was "innocent" communication with other women,is actually flirting!

in her opinion.

It can be; it depends.....it depends if you were havin' an innocent conversation or if you were flirtin'.

In my mind it was innocent, that is the problem I am told. My wife's mantra is that I'm in denial.

I can't have an innocent conversation with a woman.
It's my sick mind
I always think she's flirting with me.
And I'm always thinking more about her than I should.

Addict.

I can't have an innocent converation with a woman. period.
even if she is not flirting and i am not thinking of flirting, and even if I am thinking about nothing but the conversation at hadnd, I still have no ability to have a conversation as I would with another man.
Don't know why. It just is that way. Frustrating but that's life for me. And it probably always will be. (There might be some deep rooted issues from my past from wanting to find favor in girls' eyes. I recently revisited that tekufa in my life and realized that there may be something there)

I am addicted to lust -thinking whether I'm talking to a female or not. What's the difference?

Very interesting. I'm the same way, and I was wondering what it was all about...

Definitely with me it has to do with trying to get recognition or validation from them, and i feel that deep down that causes me to believe they want me and are flirting with me, even in the most innocent sounding conversation, and it makes me say the dumbest things. I therefore try to plan in advance if possible how to stay focused on keeping it short and to the point and not deluding myself to think she really is interested in me. But it's good to know I'm not the only one

You seem to have a good grasp on the motivation of your actions. That is most valuable.

When working on emunah, and developing our personal relationship with Hashem, his existence and connection to us becomes more and more real.

Knowing that we are doing what Hashem wants, especially if it is a challenge, is a recognition/validation that warms the soul.

It is because my relationship with our Maker is so intense that my "Dark" side can be overpowering at times.

As a general rule - keep it businesslike, not personal. Share facts, not feelings. If you can avoid it altogether - ma tov umah naim! Just something off the top of my head. Sometimes it's a fine line (and a dangerous one!).

I found your reply useless
