Idk about this hotline idea (not against it, I just don't have thoughts about it. I thought GYE had a hotline at some point, I don't know what happened to it?)

But sounds like someone's been doing some great awareness work already. What's he doing and how can we replicate that outside of BMG?

Motzei Pesach I typed up the following sign and hung it all around BMG.

I’d like to share my story with you in the hope that others can gain from it…

As a young boy I was unfortunately exposed to the darkest tumah the internet has to offer. I spent many many years struggling, all the while trying to figure out how to break free of the terribly strong grip the yetzer hara had on me. I struggled through my years in mesivta, beis medrash and then as a yungerman here in BMG. This struggle gave me no rest and was a huge weight on my shoulders throughout all those years. Bchasdei Hashem, a few months ago I was zoche to learn the proper way how to deal with this nisayon and I’ve broken out of this terrible cycle that had been going on for more than 15 years.

If my story sounds at all familiar, you should know that you are not alone. There are unfortunately many chashuve bnei torah that I know personally, and probably many more that I don’t know about, that struggle with these inyanim.

You should also know that it is quite possible to break free. The same way I did, you can as well.

I then left my google voice number and email to allow people to reach out to me if they'd want. The signs got ripped down kinda quick... so, I hung up some more... eventually they all came down but not before 18 people reached out to me. Some by text, some by email, and some by phone. Motzei Shabbos before Rosh Chodesh Sivan I hung up another bunch of signs. By now they have all come down but this time I was contacted by 23 people. Sent some guys to HHM, a guy to CO, a few to eerie, gave them a nice little shmooz offered to be in touch, or to meet in person if they'd like. Ordered the battle of the generation book for a few guys...

Almost none of them ever heard of GYE, most don't have constant internet access at all. All thought they were the only guy in BMG struggling, all thought they were the worst reshaim and losers since dor hamabul, and all thought they'd never break out.

Late to the אסיפה, but...this exact sign was in the Mir (outside the -1 dining room and in the elevator) a couple of days ago.
I saw it and beamed. And now I know which צדיק it originated from.
IWLR, you're unbelievable. Klal Yisroel should continue to be Zoche to have such fighters!!!

On a related note, reading through some of the posts here relating to the unfortunately all-too-common attitude of "let's avoid this subject" that is present in so many places. Sadly, yes, this unspoken sentiment is present in many מוסדות and communities in Frum society. And let me be frank: it's horrific that such an attitude exists, for many reasons, but mainly because (as IWLR noted himself) so, SO MANY people struggle with this (given the insanity of today's world combined with how easy it is to access), and as a result of the "let's pretend this issue is nonexistent" attitude feel like they are the worst רשעים to ever walk the face of this Earth, and therefore, there is no hope for somebody as "evil" as them, they're a lost cause. [It's exactly how I felt when I found myself plumbing the depths of this hell for almost 5 years as a Bochur.]
I still remember how much convincing it took (thank you HHM) for me to realize how common and normal the fight is. Pretending the issue doesn't exist (or worse, admitting that it does but insisting that it shouldn't be spoken about and addressed) is stupidity beyond words-it destroys those currently struggling, and makes it so much harder for them to seek help and break free.

Incredible. BH I can try reaching out to leading Rabbonim in my community and see if they will endorse advertising in the local shuls / Yeshiva once it's ready.

The yetzarim a person has the most trouble dealing with are his most powerful God-given tools for developing his potential and achieving shleimus.
In order to love who you are, you cannot hate the experiences that shaped you.
It doesn't matter how big the number is, only that today it is going up by one.

Just received an email
I was exposed to pornography a few months ago but all my high school years I struggled with masturbation and shemiras einayim. Now I am learning in the holy land and thank God I am not a current watcher of pornography. What I do find challenging is walking down the streets over here full of God's beautiful human beings and I find myself scaring walking and then masturbating. Do you have any good ideas. Hearing not to go out at all will not be for me but do you have any other practical ideas?

What would You guys respond?

I think it is clear that this initiative is to make awareness that there is a solution and then refer on to the appropriate place, GYE, SA, HHM, Eerie, etc.
People asked to the nusach of the sign and as mentioned I simply copy pasted IWLR's nusach even though it doesn't correctly reflect my story as it was a nusach that seemed to produce results
IWLR didn't share his number or email address so I had to put on my own,
If someone agrees to share their contact details [it could be an israeli number will be more effective] I'd love to step aside.
[and actually I would be more comfortable posting signs when its not my number - as then i'm just doing a chessed if i get caught...]
Maybe once this hotline thing is set up then the best way to advertise it would be with a simple nussach like IWLR did -
its most personal and doesn't sound like a commercial [tarti bmashma]

Wow, Parev! Amazing!
I'd suggest you encourage the people reaching out that they go to GYE. Once they get here, they'll beH learn the tips they need.

The line is up and running, BH. As with everything, will need some tweaking before it goes public. Working on it with a rabbanim. And yes, I'd like there to be an Israeli number that connects to it. First working on making the line functional. Will keep you updated beH.
