If someone could clarify--

What I understand from the rules is that contact between GYE members is discouraged:

11.) GYE takes internet safety very seriously. While the need to be cautious is vital no matter where you surf, it is even more important when you are involved in a forum that caters to sex/Lust addiction. The GYE forum is completely anonymous and should remain that way. Posts should not contain any personal information such as real last names (although using real first names is healthy for recovery), email addresses, telephone numbers or personal websites. Avoid mentioning any information that a third party could use to locate you - your school or shul name, favorite hangout spot, etc. are examples of things not to discuss on the forum.

Yet I've seen that writers will provide an e-mail address in a post for others to contact them. Anyone want to give guidelines about this and explain the seeming contradiction?

Hi XY, I always offer my email address on this forum, but it is a special email used only for GYE anonymous correspondence. I never give my real information to anyone I don't know.

People use an anonymous email address. Just how anonymous it actually is, is up to how far you want to go with technology.

It was also scary goin' to an adult theater a few blocks from my house.
