i am some great chizzuk for you dudes. I want you to forget about the threats of hellfire from our rabbis. i want you to forget about how forbidden it is. These thoughts will not stop you at all. Instead it will make the yetser even stronger even past the point of you jumping off the walls. i want you to think about that if you can push off that thought of her again you could do to again and again. you can do it over and over.

Hi WWW. I do agree that thinking about hell doesn't work for me at the crucial moments but I'm sure what you mean by jumping off walls.

I've been reading your previous posts and was just wondering, as I'm sure we all are, how are you doing? Have you managed to cut out porn and masturbation? What brings you back?

Sometimes you need to be blunt, so here goes.

It seems that WWW is jealous of the guys on here who are actually gaining control of their lives. To him, giving up his strong desires seems so unattainable that he feels no recourse but to try to bring others down by poking fun and giving nonsense advice.

WWW,
If you desire to reclaim your life rather than being slave to your every whim and desire as animals do, it is possible and you can be happy - much happier than you are now.

But be serious. Post about yourself, your challenges, how you are trying to overcome them.
You'll get the support you need and you'll be able to live life.

Otherwise, please don't share your wisdom.

I'm sorry, I may have been too harsh.

I looked at your previous posts and read your post on this thread with tainted lenses. But the truth is, a lot of time has passed since those posts and perhaps you have changed.

I've just reread your post here and I pretty much agree with what you have written. It seems you have come to pretty solid observations.

1) On this site, threats of hellfire, as you put it, are not really mentioned because as you noted, they don't really help us improve. If anything, they bring us further down after falling.

2) Being clean for any period of time is proof that we can continue being clean.

Keep observing, keep learning, keep growing!

Hatzlacha!

Animals leave the world the same way they came in. They eat, sleep, mate and do it over again their whole lives. All they care about is themselves. They don't give thought to anything other than themselves.

People are in this world to improve ourselves and to improve the world. We're not meant to leave the world the same as how we came in.

People have animal instincts. Among other things, guys are wired to be attracted to and want girls, but we also have intelligence, and have the power to make decisions beyond our own desires. Our job is not to be like the animals, but to be better, to work on ourselves, to care about others and the world around us.

We can work on ourselves and succeed.

No such thing, and there are no barriers in regard to religion or lack thereof. For most guys these issues begin way before marriageable age.

I'm very sorry to break this to you, but that is EXACTLY what they thought in Mitzrayim!!! They are bound to the way they were born, whether with a lazy disposition or a more passionate one, or whatever it be. Hashem took us out showing us that WE CAN, YES WE CAN, and there are plenty here who have, break our nature. That is what we were sent to this world here to do, to break the nature.

I have to say that if I knew this would be on here, that I would have to ask a sheilah about going to a site where there is apikorsis.

If that is not what you meant please clarify (in length), but since you "cannot say much more" I feel the need to be moicha to any such train of thought.

HKB''H created trillions of malochim, perfect beings that did all the right things because it is in their nature. But they are not the purpose of creation. Hashem created humans in a such a way that many evil things are in their nature to do and He created them that way deliberately and told them to keep 613 mitzvos because if they could have such a nature and still keep the mitzvos then the entire creation will have been worthwhile.

The fact that it's in our nature to do certain sins is exactly the reason why it's so special to avoid those sins and it's the challenge that makes it so important. To say that it's in your nature and there's no point in fighting it is giving up. It's throwing in the towel and saying that your job is too hard for you.

But Hashem knows better. He knows you, He knows what you're capable of and He's given you this challenge, tailor-made for your neshama and your personality. He knows what He's doing, trust Him.

perhaps you need to show me exactly where in the torah ktav this is prohibited.i don't see in the 613 maybe everybody got married at 13 so there were no problems. This is unfortunately one of those minhagim like toivelim everyday.

*GASP*

Wow, oh my goodness. OK. Wow. Really not sure what to say here but I'll give it a go.

I think the most obvious point is that if it had to be in torah shebichsav for you to agree with it, then you would be a true apikores. Torah sheba'al peh is also 100% emes, (see devorim 32:7). I'm certain you didn't mean what you said cos I don't believe you're an apikores.

As for it being a minhag, unfortunately you are incorrect, see even ho'ezer 23.

The less obvious point here is that the title of your thread is ''some chizzuk for my bros,'' but you are actually trying to undermine what we are working for. This is not chizzuk, quite the reverse. You are trying to weaken our resolve and I think that is despicable. Even the goyim I know allow me to practice my religion undisturbed (bechasdei Hashem) and they seem to show it more respect than you are now. Even if this was not a religious argument, it's a lack of manners and a total lack of respect for what we believe in.

I have a LOT to say to you about your statements, but this forum is not the place to do so. So I will say nothing.
My Rabbi always gives me the same advice. "Be happy. The world is good. Just be happy."
