It depends. If your name is something like David, or Dov, or Yosef, it won't reveal much. Mine is somewhat less common, and combined with other things I have mentioned, it would be quite easy for the right person to connect the dots. So for now i remain....

There are people on here who have posted for the first time, were lurking, and mistakenly trusted the system. I won't reveal their names, but some first-time posters may be surprised, after finally letting down their guard, that they are now searchable (I was able, just randomly, to trace one person to his town and some computer issues since he posted using the same handle). My (very wobbly) moral compass tells me something is not right about this. But admittedly, I am still in the grips of powerful lust urges and hanging on to not acting out by the threads, so take everything I say with a grain of salt.

Obviously one should not use the same handle here that they use for other sites.

Perhaps suggestions like these should be made clear on the sign-up page.

Sorry. Edge used it first, and I thought it was a pretty common term (it actually goes back to the old CB Radio days in the '70s.)

A search will never link your real name to Kosher because they only search for what is on the page. It never says your name on the page unless your name is Dov and Dov answers one of your posts, then Dov and Kosher will appear together. There are so many kashrus pages that it will never happen. Google Gevura Shebyesod and the first thing is GYE with your name "Kosher"! Try it and see, although these things change daily.
