Hey PSM, we're walking this road together. You and me are similar 'age'.
We don't want to carry no injured friends off the battle fields (of course we do if it happens), we want to all be healthy and living life well in the beis Hashem.

Hello My Friends,
I just made this post on another forum but wanted to express it here as well.

I worry about the impact my sins will have on my children all the time. I have wonderful children who are all great sources of Nachas. I have 3 married with a few grandchildren.
I made up my mind, in order to keep my sanity and not allow the Y"H to drag me down, that I will only focus on the future and do what is right from now on. Maybe down the road when I have some long term sobriety, will I ask HKB"H to help me do T'shuvah. Now all he wants from me is Azivas Hachet. I beg him all the time to keep me safe and I beg him to protect my children from my aveiros and I tell him that there is nothing I can do to change the past but I will do whatever I can to change the future including begging HKBH to protect me from temptation, and that HKB"H should keep my children safe and help me fix my mess when he feels the time is right. I cannot change the past so I must do 100% of what I can change to improve my behavior, but HKB"H can change the past and protect me from the past and we know that he does as it say in CHAZAL, Z'donos naasos K'shkogos. I don't know if I will ever merit that, but I know HKBH can change my past and my history so I must leave that to him and focus only on what I can do.
It's tough, but I am a big boy and I should have thought of all this stuff before I did my aveiros instead of crying like a baby now. I'll suck it up, do what I can, and beg HKB"H for the rest. We are fortunate to have a loving HKB"H who doesn't tell us to suffer for what we deserve, rather he protects us and promotes us and helps us and believes in us and give us so many wonderful things in life like a loving wife, wonderful children, parnossa, a home a community, happiness, health, friends, and a way out of our mess that WE MADE in spite of all the kindness that HKB"H has shown us and shows us every minute of every day while we are actively sinning and rebelling against him.
Such a loving and selfless HKB"H, when he sees how much we try to improve and how sad we are when we are not behaving because we really want to be close to him, will surely help us and save us from our destruction and even undo our mess, but that is for HKB"H, I must stay focused on Yosy's job and that is to be a good yid, a good husband, a good father and just a mentch and leave the rest up to HKB"H who has proven to me many times that he loves me and that he will always do what is best for me.

We are getting close. What shall we plan for the party?

Since we've been so good for sooo long, I think we deserve to indulge: How about a porn-athon with some live hookers too?
I won't say this is my yetzer hara talking: Big Moish has in his signature: I've found the enemy and he is me. So true.
Honestly, I've reached 90 days before, and thrown it away for small things - so I take this milestone with a pinch of salt.
That said, every day of sobriety no matter what happens after is eternal credit in our bank that has to help us in out fight going forwards - so I'd hope it's business as usual - cos you can be certain that my yetzer hara is thinking that! No?

I hear you, but never again. I see how badly the porn has damaged my ability to be sexually satisfied, aroused and functional. It is poison in my brain. Visit mybrainonporn. It is a real eye opener.

I don't trust myself to learn my lesson. I'm a freaking addict and when tempted, immediate pleasure comes above all else.

Every day we are sober means the world to us and if it was feasible, we'd throw a party every single day.
