Hello hello hello!!!

Oh is it good to be back!!

BH, I'm still clean!! Well, somewhat, just a little falling in the movie area. I flew back to the Hole Land yesterday and the plane was half empty. I got our family seats in the back where it was more empty and we could have more space to ourselves and all spread out.

My wife looked agitated so I asked her why, after all I was thrilled!! She said (as I was sitting in a row behind and there was no row available next to her row) "maybe you like sitting alone, but I don't"

BOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!

That was like OMG!!! It so defined me and my relationship with the world. I would love to just do my own thing, be on my own, etc. But she is BH healthy, normal (mostly, although she has a bit of an english accent) and enjoys being with other people, talking to other people, listening to other people!!!

Anyhow, I moved her to where her sister was sitting, and I stayed in the back

It could have been fine, but then I started watching, first Godzilla, and then it continued with X-men. My wife came up to me in middle and asked me to stop because she was embarrassed of the other chassidish people who saw what I was doing. SO I moved further back where there was a group of missionaries and continued watching.

I ended up spending the whole flight watching, and completely forgot about Mincha!! Afterwards I felt that disconnect, that detachment from everything around me, it is horrible!! I had to finish the movie of course, so I did that today (while putting stan to sleep, so I have a good excuse) and watched it again...

Anyhow, if I want to enjoy life I need to jump back into it, it won't happen before that. It is uncomfortable, but I know that the path that I'm running through now will end up being much more uncomfortable.

Oh and besides for that, the trip was a breeze!! One flight at a time!! It's awesome!!!!

Thanks for letting me share and for listening!

I forgot to mention, there was something else that I did on the trip.

I couldn't resist, even though I was with my brother-in-law. I just had to buy it, he even started asking questions, but I hemmed and hawed my way though it. He wanted to know how I knew it was a kosher one and if he should buy it as well!!

I bought

Reminds me of a true story. A fellow GYE friend got engaged. I attended the vort, but I did not see any woodford there. Then the kallah's sister got engaged and I attended that vort (I happen to know the family). I went to the head-table to make a lechayim, and there I found a bottle of woodford! Wasn't sure what to make of it.

Strange world...

You know the family? You're the kallah's great aunt!

But here's my take on it, the kallah's side makes the vort. By his vort he wasn't involved in the planning, by the time her sister got engaged though, he was part of the kallah's side. See, simple as that.

1. Please be careful with my (and my GYE friend's) anonymity.
2. Yeah, the kallah's great (i.e. the other one), but I'm not the aunt (I'm somehow related to the aunt).

(Must have drunk too much of that woodford.)

As I have experienced before, the calm after the storm is many times worse than the storm itself!!

As Zemmy enlightened me the other day, my last trip went very well overall, BH. Now that I am back home, I need to switch gears and that is proving to be quite an uphill battle.

I'm tired, disenchanted, in a bad mood, and maybe some other good stuff too. I was reminded of the gemara "If your forsake me for one day I will forsake you for two" and I was thinking that there is a rule that whatever we find by bad, by good it is much more so, so if by forsaking Hashem goes double the distance, then when we come closer Hashem comes even quicker.

But if that is true then what is the warning? All we need to do is to start coming closer and the gap will fill itself quickly?

I think the answer is clear, and that is that when we come closer, yes, Hashem will narrow the distance quickly. The warning is that the further we go, the more difficult it is for us to gather the strength to take the leap back!! For every day that we are out of it, it takes that much more strength to be able to rip ourselves out and return!

So that is where I am holding, I was not ready until now to really start anew, give it my all. I feel that I have a right to be able to do this easily because the whole interruption wasn't really my fault. But the truth is, fault or no fault, this is where I'm at, and if I want to be happy then I need to stop watching movies (since the flight I haven't been very good about it), I need to stop sleeping in order to escape reality, and I need to just take the plunge!!

whew, that was solid!!

Thanks for listening!!
