You're back up on the chart. You're doing great, Tzadik.

Listen, about the filter. Why don't we do YOUR idea (under the post "I can finally be free!"). I tried it with someone else and it worked wonderful! Install K9, put in my e-mail address and a random password that you won't remember. If you ask for a temporary password, it will come to me. And I can make any changes you need to make by accessing your computer remotely using this very simple program called "ShowmyPC". (You have to give me a number before I can access your computer so you don't have to worry that I'll just access your computer). You can trust me by now, no?

If you are afraid of me seeing personal info about you, I can guarantee that I won't look :-) If you are still afraid, ask a friend to do it. No one will judge you. It's simply lifnei iver. You can claim that sometimes innapropriate sites pop up without you wanting them to... I heard of a big Rav in Jerusalem who asked his wife to hold the password for him and he let people know that he did that. There's nothing to be ashamed of. This is your Nitzchiyis. You must take strong steps Tzadik. Don't walk a tightrope over a cliff.

In SA they say, "the first one is on Hashem, the next one is on me." The Y.H. puts the thoughts in our mind to look and
to act out.  The next step is up to us.  Stop or Look again and fall. Without a program of recovery, without becoming a
pure vessel for G-d to help, we are powerless over this addiction.

Recently I read a post where someone told a member to go to a meeting.  His excuse was, I can't, the meeting sare
on the "other side" of town.  I wondered, if a free porn shop open 24 hours was open on the "other side" of town, how
long would it take for that person to get there.  I've walked miles without even thinking, just in anticipation.

Until we remove lust from our thoughts and our eyes, we will never get clean.  If you're not clean  you'll never come to
the realization that life has so much more to offer us than this fantasy.

I thought you said that the internet is just for work from now on? Even if you failed in the Kabbala until now, isn't that still your goal? If yes, then K9 won't block what you need for work (I'm pretty sure). And I can change for you what needs to be changed, if necessary. You can use my e-mail address. K9 doesn't care how many people use the same e-mail address as far as I know. Stop having Sefeikos. Jump into the Yam Suf, if you want Hashem to split it for you.

this is what k9 tells me:

Category Blocked
The site you tried to visit belongs to a category that your computer is set to block.
chatenabled.mail.google.com/ is blocked because it is currently categorized as:
Chat / Instant Messaging

Good step Tzadik!
Who has your password?

As far as your cell, here are some ideas/choices
1) Jnet has a filter for Blackberries. Maybe it works for all cell phones, I'm not sure. You can ask them.
2) Disable the internet service on the cell phone. You don't need it.
3) Get a cell without internet capabilities and throw this one out - Korbon Olah La'Hashem.
4) Make a Shavuah that if you ever access inappropriate sites on your cell phone ever again, you will throw it out and get another one without internet.

I set my k9 filter by categories....there's little reason to block Chat / Instant Messaging, etc.

It depends on the person. Personally I have no problem with text messaging on cell phones or instant messaging online. However, it is just another avenue where you can indulge your fantasy if you wish to, and for children it can be dangerous as well. If it has been an issue for you in the past, it should certainly be blocked. Otherwise, there is no reason to block it.

I think that depends how far you are into the addiction. I am not even 20 yet, have never had phone sex or online pretend sex, never touched or spoken sexually to a girl in real life. So for me it's not an issue. But if you are far enough into the addiction that you would have the urge to use IM to feed the addiction you should certainly block it!
