I think that some people have a minhag to toivel next to their bed in the morning.

Lemme go check the kabbalah thread for more information.

I think I once saw (maybe in Sefer Chassidim) that once upon a time some bochurim dormed in the house of a great sage, and they noticed next to their beds were prepared huge basins of cold water. When they asked their host, he explained, "You guys are young boys, and may be overcome by lust, so you can take a dip in the cold water to relieve the pressure."

Which reminds me: I once went to a mekubal to discuss these issues, and he gave me some advice. One solution was to take a cold shower each morning. (No it didn't help.)

Did you meet him at the airport?

No. I made an appointment and paid for his services. Actually, he is a legitimate guy, with letters of recommendation from many many gedolim. He helped me with Sholom Bayis and Chinuch issues, but as we all know, addictions die hard. So although that's what I really went for, but that part was not resolved (at that time).

If you would have only taken a cold shower in the airport...
Roy in the SA White Book noted that we frequently prayed and it did not work...because the best we could muster was begging G-d to "Please take it away, so I will not have to give it up!

You should've done it when the minyan was blocking the bathroom anyway

Re: Home of Gibbor120 15 Jun 2013 00:24 #209397

The minyan was banging. They wanted to use the shower.

Didn't kabbalists blow a shofar on a plane by the (fake) dybbuk a few years ago?

I suppose the real question is if the took a cold shower first.

Wait a second. Was that your plane?

You can always bring one of those 40 liter se'ah plastic bins along.

Do you travel first class, or are you tiny enough to fit into that sink?

I travel Zlotshiver airlines - they have a full size mikva and tush (shower bela"z) in the mens room (next to the Kaveh Vinkel).

Yes - and food stamps too (and with Section-8 you get a business class seat).
