Sounds like an addict to me...

I think it's actually tied in cuz it's about fantasy and escaping from reality. I spend hours reading stuff like that too.

The only volume I really liked was the 3rd. I feel that she lost her touch and got snogged after that (and the 2nd was a total boring flop. The end was too contrived and predictable, and the first book was the only one that was actually great fun...aside from the part in the 5th (?) about the frog-like jerk-lady getting destroyed by the Weasley twins breaking out of Hogwarts. Nu.

Harry Potter? Never heard of it.

(my rebbe just walked in so i had to write that)

Maskim. It was basically downhill from the book two. If I wanted something deep I would have opened a Etz Chaim

What are your thoughts about Etz Chayim, chaver?

Nu Dov, any Chidushim on the words of Rabbi Vital?

And Emu, Two days Kolell? Really? I'll let your chavrusa know... [Although I know someone who faked Mumps, just to get a music album recorded, whatever.]

Whilst you guys are talking about Harry Potter (I read only book one) I got the new J.K.Rowling book called "casual vacancy" (someone gave it to me, I would never pay money for it) and my advice is not to read it. It has way to much sexual content and I am going to get rid of it when I get home. I started reading it a few days ago and I had an erection today because of it (sorry for being too graphic).

OK Dov I just got home and threw it out. But in the few chapters that I read it taught me a few more dirty concepts. Thanx J.K.Rowling >

It's amazing. Till now we thought that when Chaza"l said, "If a person says 'Hashem is mevater', then let him be mavater on [a little poison for] his intestines [meaning, he will certainly not really risk any poison at all, so he lies when he assumes Hashem is mevater]"...that it means only what the Mesilas Yeshorim writes: no aveira goes unpunished and no good deed goes without just and full reward.

Now we see that this is a klal in real life, not just schar in Olam habo, religion, taharah aspirations, or whatever. There is no escape-hatch from the effect that 'taking a sweet, better look at her body', or 'reading a bit of that erotic story', or 'just checking out that erotic idea over there' will have on me. It will have some effect. There will be a memory burned into my head that will take some real time to dissipate. It will make real life more uncomfortable for me and there is no escape - no freebie.

OK, enough seriousness. I can't take any more!

...Hey - isn't this supposed to be a "Just Having Fun" thread?!

Aye!!! Sorry!

No! It was supposed to be a Beis HaMidrash thread

And Hey JJ! JayJay may have a different din in a get than just a generic TeeZee, let's not get into it, Guard doesn't let...

Too deep for me. I'm still at pre-Etz Chayim.
