Why do we say Hallel on Rosh Chodesh?
Rav Shimshon Rephael Hirsch zichrono livrocho says that we live with miracles every day. There are personal miracles, even if we are not addicts in recovery, and national miracles. We should say Hallel every day but chazal do not allow that because it would cheapen Hallel, so we say Hallel on Rosh Chodesh to thank Hashem for all those  daily miracles.
The Blind Beggar is a character in Rebbe Nachman's story of the Seven Beggars.

I can guard my eyes.
I want to guard my eyes.
I do guard my eyes.

I just want to point out that Kedusha got up to 1000 days on the Chart in one stretch from day one without falling even once. That's more than I can say about my 208 days. Can anyone else make such a claim?
I know, Dov, only one day at a time but still awesome is awesome.

This thread has over ten thousand views and I have 492 posts. I want 500 so I am posting.
What should I say?
Pretty new worker just started yesterday but not much of a problem yet. Haven't heard from 1daat for a while. Haven't heard from Kedusha or Bardichev for ages.Waffle, waffle. Maybe I should say something negative about the 12 Steps and have Dov start a war on my thread.

here are some sure-fire controversy-stoking content-laden pearls-of-wisdom about the 13th step:

Britt wrote on 09 Jul 2010 02:50:

13th step (or is that 11th commandment):
don't tell loshon hara against yourself.
you are strong and capable and more.
don't forget it.

usually I'll couch my words on this forum in 'conditional' tones like maybe, one person's opinion, etc.
not here.
"don't tell loshon hara against yourself."
period.
even if, chas vashalom, you think it might be true.
especially.

kinda like when you buy bagels (at least here in america) - you buy 12, and they say, since you're buying so many, you're a good customer, we'll throw in a 13th one for free...

You guys have skipped to the 13th step. that is where the lust addict moves on to a state of insanity similar to the one he experienced in his addict days... only this time with teh wafting aromas of all these great eats weze is talkin about he is higher and nuttier n ever. but remains sober. in part due to self control, in part due to extreme nasuea, and in part due to group support. The group support for the nasuea is the 14th step. 15th and sixteenth have been repealed but are expected on a public ballot next election. at that time we may all experience a shalacking the fumes of which combine wiht the possum porridge and rabbits feet, gnewt tales and all dem yummies and take us even higher. and the cycle begins once more with step one

OTR you are right
we iz nuts

but to add steps to the Steps? especially 'teen' steps...
everyone knows that the teenage years are hard and dangerous
studies have shown that 100% of teens that got into accidents or died were in their teens
so anything 'teen' is a little scary

hope this helps

There are 15 Shir Hamaalos so there needs to be a matching number of Steps. For extra credit explain how each Kapitel is Mechuvan to the appropriate Step.
