Everything is trigerring when I do not really want to be sober. I have been there many times and sometimes want to lust. So?

That is no proof that a tool doesn't work. Just like it is not a proof that Torah doesn't work! If the tools that work for many people do not work for us, that is proof to me that the problem is within us, not in the tools. I will use anything to get my tasty fun when I want it and nothing will stop us - not even G-d.

I don't want to conitunue bickering as it will side-track from what "baal ha-thread" is trying to do here. But I think that certain things need to be cleared up in light of Dov's taking offense to me expressing my views.
So if you have any interest in following this up, please go here for my response.

Did this sound offensive? I really can't tell, so could someone please let me know? dov wrote on 10 Nov 2011 22:59:

I mustn't be a trigger.
Dress down Friday. Sarah is not chareidis so dressing down means non-triggering (for me at least)!! We have a few modern orthodox women here - all non-triggering! It's the silver lining in the cloud.
Another day and still sober. Thank you Hashem. Thank you GYE and all the chevra.

Funny, for me casual fridays are better too.  More pants.  Funny how I consider pants more tznius, usually.

I also find that when I wear pants its much better, men in skirts is a big turnoff, even if you are carrying a bag pipe.

And since we know what everyone else was wearing, BB I don't want you to feel left out, so what did you wear for casual Friday?

Actually, this friday, there are NO triggers at work!  At least I haven't seen any yet.  Happy Veteran's day!  I'm technically off, but working to make up all the time I took off for yom tov.

UAJ,

Go easy on the poor guy. I am as not interested in the G&S daily wardrobe update (as you put it so well) as anyone.

But having been for a few hours with young women who obviously did not realize how their dress (or lack of it) and demeanor was demeaning and objectifying themselves. Combined with the most triggering body part that I am know, the mouth shaped in a smile. I understand and sympathize with the obsesion. At least by me, after less than a day I was done with it (though the issues, debates, challenges and images last a lot longer as reported to some extent on GYE). Do have to deal with this day after day it sure doesn't sound easy to get out of the mind.

Can we give some great concrete suggestions so that he really can get it out of his mind and spare us all?
Until then we really need to lend a strong supporting hand.

Good Shabbos,
I am not big enough to not do something I WANT to do because I know it is wrong, but I've been around long enough not to want to do many things, even though they are really enticing at the first glance.

On casual Friday I wear a business suit and a tie. I am the best dressed in the entire office every day.
Today is work-at-home Sunday so I have to deal with ultra-orthodox women who will always be objects because they will never talk to me. As long as I stay home away from the windows it should be a cinch.

116 days on the GYE Chart, 424 days on the Chart in total, 233 days sober according to SA's definition. Without GYE those numbers would be 2, 100, and 2 respectively.

Bow? regular? color and design? wool, silk, rayon?

Also, weren't you cold without shoes and socks, shirt and tzitzis?

Oh, and btw,  your fashion posts are fine.  These guys are just whining.  Your posts are generic enough for me that they are not triggering.  I also haven't seen anybody complaining on the possible triggering issue.

So WHAT'S YOUR PROBLEM GUYS???

I can see how a carefully phrased "dump" (which you are, being careful) onto the thread  as part of his clearing out the day, or not keeping the image a secret in his mind, or however it works for him could be helpful.  So I got no problem with it and it doesn't trigger me.

Come summer guys are describing tsnius problems in way more detail than he does.  And when guys complained about his descriptions, he apologized, acknowledged his mistake and cleaned his act up.

SO WHAT'S YOUR PROBLEM GUYS?

Youz guys gots a problem with my friend here, you come talk to me! >

BB, just trying to get your back here.

Hang in there

Didn't see any women at all today! :D :D
What will Sarah be wearing tomorrow? What has Gila chosen to go to work in on Monday? Who will I see at the bus stop made-up for work? Watch this thread! 8)

Baggy pants today, not at all triggering. Piece of cake! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
One day, of course, at a time.
On the whole I am trying to ignore her. She asked me a question today and I did not know the answer.  ??? I felt like a bit of a fool, which is good. I do not want to impress her.
