I am new here - 1st time user.

I am desperate to stop and have installed filters but i still have a major urge and somehow i find a way through the filter even if its not to the worst sites.

Pls can someone give me advice and also help me use this site correctly.

I use K9 installed by TAG but will trawl search engines until i find a site that hasn't been blocked.

I have been able to control myself for long periods of time and then bang it goes. I will then try and find a computer that doesn't have a filter and look at it all.

perhaps let tag know which sites went thru.

when you start trawlin', take a break for a minute and see if you can control yourself for the next minute.

install a better filter as well.

what filter would you recommend?

I have asked a few people for help (from out of town as too embarrassed to ask from people i see regularly) but they just gave some quick advice and that was it. i opened up to them in the hope that they would hold my hand through this but i dint get it. the next time they would see some asked how are things, and if at a good stage i would just say all is good but really i knew that it was only a matter of time.

I have mentioned many times on this site that none of us have ever needed to ask for assistance locatin' porn sites, and we are pretty good at findin' the best ones and the cheapest....if that is what we want.

what did you mean you reached out to others in different cities, and then you bump into them?

perhaps tell your story, so others on this site can provide proper direction.

Maybe you should consider getting accountability software? It could probably act as a deterrant, whereas a filter merely blocks.

WELCOME! You have come to the right place. Have you read the handbook? I have a link in my signature. My guess is that you also have trouble guarding your eyes in the street, and other times, where the issue isn't a computer. Just a guess.

I learned here that my problem is lust, and until I address that problem, I will play the endless game that you are playing right now. Working on the filter and things like that and not the problem head-on.

Filters are important, don't get me wrong, but they are a first step, a fence. A fence only helps so much. If one is determined to get by the fence, he can. Getting by the filter just becomes a game, as you described so well. I know. I played that game too.

How long have you had a "problem"? Is it "only" the computer, or do you have other struggles as well?
